Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Spring Awards

This spring we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in baseball, softball, girls track, boys track, boys tennis, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.

Each week during the spring sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive an award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 3 BOYS TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Chuck Shewalter, Upper Arlington (Vote)

Junior and Ohio State commit St. Charles’ Evan Yakubov.

*Nate Griffin, St. Ignatius (Vote)

Junior notched big wins over Hudson’s Dominic Polifrone and Westerville South’s David Hayman.

*Blaine Carr, Pickerington North (Vote)

Junior had a big week with wins over Dublin Jerome’s Ryan Worthen, Hilliard Davidson’s Chris Codogni and Bexley’s Max Knox-Kelly.

*Jack Zelezny, Upper Arlington (Vote)

Freshman announces presence with wins over Reynoldsburg’s Cameron Raglin and Pickerington North’s Blaine Carr.

*Asher Hirsch, Cincinnati Country Day (Vote)

Junior and defending singles state champion improved to 4-0 with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Sycamore’s Deepak Indrakanti.

*John Delp, Toledo Central Catholic (Vote)

Senior notched a big northwest Ohio win over St. John’s Rajeev Laungani.

*Nico Mostardi, Avon (Vote)

Sophomore continues to impress. Had big win over Copley’s Andrew Ong.

WEEK 3 BOYS TENNIS TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Massillon Jackson (Vote)

Reigning Federal League champions improved to 6-0 with a win over North Canton Hoover.

*Upper Arlington (Vote)

The Golden Bears won the Worthington Cup. Reynoldsburg was second.

*St. Ignatius (Vote)

The Wildcats won the title at the Rocky River Tournament.

*Dublin Jerome (Vote)

The Celtics had a big week, going 3-0 with wins over Olentangy, Westerville North and Gahanna Lincoln.

*Copley (Vote)

The Indians went 3-0 last week with wins over Wadsworth, Solon and Avon.
