Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Spring Awards

This spring we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in baseball, softball, girls track, boys track, boys tennis, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.

Each week during the spring sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive an award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 2 BOYS LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Joe Altieri, North Canton Hoover (Vote)

Junior broke the school record with 12 points (eight goals and four assists) in a 17-3 win over Wooster. Also had seven goals and three assists in a 21-1 win over Stow.

*Macko Saffin, Mariemont (Vote)

Senior has scored 22 goals in five games.

*Mitch Spaulding, St. Charles (Vote)

Freshman has scored 13 goals and has six assists in the last three games. Scored the game-winning goal against Thomas Worthington in overtime.

*Bryan Karn, Solon (Vote)

Junior goalie made 17 saves in a 9-8 win over St. Ignatius. Also shutout Shaker Heights.

*Nick Reeves, Archbishop Hoban (Vote)

Sophomore goalie made eight saves in a 10-9 OT road win over St. Thomas Aquinas. Also made seven saves in a 6-5 road win over Padua-Franciscan.

*Ben Frazier, Indian Hill (Vote)

Senior has 19 goals in four games.

WEEK 2 BOYS LACROSSE TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Solon (Vote)

Comets improved to 6-0 with wins over Medina (16-9), Shaker Hieghts (15-1) and St. Ignatius (9-8).

*Upper Arlington (Vote)

Golden Bears remained unbeaten by taking down a pair of Pennsylvania powers in Sewickley Academy (14-5) and Shady Side Academy (8-2). Also beat Olentangy Liberty (8-4).

*Worthington Kilbourne (Vote)

Wolves remained unbeaten with wins over a pair of Pensylvania teams – Mount Lebanon (9-3) and Franklin regional (18-4) – and also beat Dublin Coffman (17-2).

*Dublin Jerome (Vote)

Celtics went 3-0 last week with wins over Thomas Worthington (16-7), Franklin Regional (Pa.) (18-6) and Mount Lebanon (Pa.) (15-2).

*Chagrin Falls (Vote)

Tigers improved to 4-0 with wins over St. Edward (15-10) and Strongsville (14-5).

*Sylvania Northview (Vote)

Wildcats won three games (over Ottawa Hills, Fenwick and Walsh Jesuit) to improve to 4-1.

*Mariemont (Vote)

Warriors recorded huge road win at last week’s Bucknuts/JJHuddle Team of the Week winner Loveland (8-6).  Also beat Milford 15-3.
