Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Spring Awards

This spring we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in baseball, softball, girls track, boys track, boys tennis, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.

Each week during the spring sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive an award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 1 GIRLS LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Meghan Basile, Granville (Vote)

Scored game-high five goals in a 16-6 win over Delaware Hayes.

*Claire Koontz, Dublin Jerome (Vote)

Sophomore had game-high seven goals in a 13-9 win over Dublin Scioto.

*Rachel Dietz, Olentangy (Vote)

Senior scored game-high six goals in 20-15 win over Olentangy Orange. Added three goals in 16-14 win over Hartley.

*Moriah Flynn, Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame (Vote)

Junior and Marquette commit leads the GGCL in scoring through six games with 39 goals and seven assists.

*Liza Carey, Thomas Worthington (Vote)

Senior and San Diego State recruit scored six goals in a 14-9 win over Kenston. Had five goals in a 14-6 win over Hathaway Brown.

*Katie Stegmann, Olentangy (Vote)

Junior scored four goals in a 20-15 win over Olentangy Orange and six goals in a 16-14 win over Hartley.

WEEK 1 GIRLS LACROSSE TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Thomas Worthington (Vote)

The Cardinals opened up with five straight wins, including victories over Columbus Academy and Kenston.

*Walsh Jesuit (Vote)

The Warriors started the season 3-0 with wins over Akron Hoban, Bay Village Bay and Brecksville-Broadview Heights.

*Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame (Vote)

The Cougars opened season with six straight wins, including a pair of two-point victories over Ursuline (12-10) and Seton (11-9).

*Olentangy (Vote)

The Braves won their first four games (Toledo St. Ursula, Olentangy Liberty, Olentangy Orange and Hartley).

*Mason (Vote)

Since a season-opening loss to stalwart Medina, the Comets have won four straight over Cincinnati St. Ursula, Summit Country Day, St. Charles and Worthington Kilbourne.
