Ohio National Guard JJH Player of the Week

JJHuddle is proud to announce that the Ohio National Guard will again sponsor the ONG JJHuddle Player and Team of the Week awards in Football and Basketball during the 2013-2014 school year.

Each week during the football, boys basketball and girls basketball regular seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Ohio National Guard Ohio Team and Player of the Week. Each weekly winner will receive an award (a banner) from the National Guard.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in the JJHuddle Basketball Forums each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

Week 1 Nominees: Vote Now

Thurgood Marshall: The Cougars improved to 2-1 with a big win over Columbus Northland 67-55 in a match up of state heavyweights. Thurgood outscored the Vikings 41-26 in the first and third quarters combined.

Ben Logan: After going 4-19 last season, the Raiders improved to 4-0 this year with a 68-67 win over Waynesfield-Goshen.

Gahanna Lincoln: Central Ohio’s top D-I team, the Lions opened the season with solid wins over Brookhaven (54-47) and Columbus East (70-49).

Columbus Ready: The Silver Knights won the London Tip-Off Classic with double-digit wins over Beechcroft and host London. Followed that with a 46-point win over Horizon Science Academy.

Centerburg: The Trojans improved to 3-0 with convincing wins over Utica, East Knox and Northmor. Centerburg beat those three by an average of 28 points and didn’t allow any of them to reach 40 points.

Berea-Midpark: In first year of existence, the Titans are 3-0 headlined by a win over a very good Medina squad.

Bethel: The Bees are 2-0 following wins over Bradford and an upset of Troy Christian.
