Ohio is one of the country’s top wrestling state’s and here are 42 reasons why. Heading into the regular season here are some names you need to know. You’ll hear plenty about them come the postseason. Some are seniors, some are juniors, some have committed to college, some are state champs..All, however, are good. get acquainted.

2013-14 JJHuddle Ohio HS Wrestlers To Watch

1. Jacob Danishek, Dayton Christian, Sr. – Coming off Super 32 title, Indiana signee aims for fourth title after being named D-III MVP of state tournament.
2. Jake Spiess, Delta, So. – Returning state champ at 106.
3. Hunter Bray, Dayton Christian, So. – Rebounded from upset loss in state semis to finish third.
4. Jarred Ganger, Troy Christian, Jr. – Defending state champ
5. Christian Clary, Dayton Christian, Sr. – King of Funk just missed on first title, looks to become 4-time placer.
6. Garrett Hancock, Troy Christian, Jr. – Defending state champ
7. Logan LaCure, Greeneview, So. – Just missed claiming state title as a freshman.
8. Sammy Gross, Beachwood, Jr. –  Bounced back from loss to LaCure in semis to finish third.
9. Andrew Hoskins, Greeneview, Jr. – Two-time state placer.
10. Jason Sandlin, Carlisle, Jr. – Projected state champ lost controversial semi in the final five seconds. Finished third… again.
11. Logan Day. Archbold, Sr. – Finished 51-2 in finishing second at state.
12. Kollin Moore, Creston Norwayne, Jr. – Returning state runner-up
13. Ryan Harris, Beachwood, Sr. – Capped off 50-0 season with state title.
14. Jimmy Sandlin, Carlisle, Sr. – Battled through the consolation bracket to finish third.
15. Travis Linton, Rootstown, Sr. – Defending state champ
16. Armani Robinson, Greeneview, Sr. – Three time placer looking for elusive title.
17. Ryan Weber, Loudonville, Sr. – Finished fourth after losing to Dalton Ishmael in semis
18. Corey Durbin, Fremont St. Joseph’s Central Catholic – Was fourth at state last year.
19. Patrick Garren, Columbus Bishop Ready, Sr. – Finished 42-1 in claiming state title.
20. Tyler Warner, Uhrichsville Claymont, So. – Defending state champ
21. Seth Beard, Napolean, So. – Lost in UTB to Warner for state title.
22. Eli Seipel, Graham, Jr. – Claimed 3-2 win over Cameron Kelly for state title.
23. Cameron Kelly, Bellbrook, Jr. – Finished second to Seipel despite wrestling state tournament on basically one leg.
24. Anthony Tutolo, Mentor Lake Catholic, Sr. – Defending state champ
25. Micah Jordan, Graham, Sr. – Going for fourth title – family’s 22nd.
26. Preston Bowshier, Kenton Ridge, Sr. – Could handle everyone at state last season, but Jordan.
27. Alex Mossing, Toledo Central Catholic, Sr. – Defending state champ finished 38-4
28. Ryan Skonieczny, Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary, Sr. – State runner-up

30. Seth Williams, Tiffin Columbian, Sr. – Finished 47-3 in second place finish/

32. Aaron Schuette, Wauseon, Sr. – Finished second to Bo Jordan.
33. Isaiah Margheim, Sandusky, Jr. – State runner-up
34. Jack Harris, Urbana, So. – State semis last year
35. Billy Miller, Perry, Sr. – Defending state champ at 285
36. Jose Rodriguez, Massillon Perry, Jr. – Defending state champ
37. Richie Screptock, Oregon Clay, Jr. – Returning state placer
38. Dakota Sizemore, Moeller, Sr. – State champ finished 32-6.
39. Michael Weber, Loveland, Sr. – Returning state placer
40. Kyle Schmidt, Miamisburg, Sr. – Bounced back from controversial loss in quarters to place.
