The Week 8 competition for the Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio HS Football Team and Player Of the Week is over. And it was a heated one. Over 229,000 votes were and this week’s winners are…


ONG JJH Ohio Player of the Week

Week 8 Winner: Mason Clark, QB, Elgin

Completed 23 of 37 passes for 467 yards and six touchdowns in a 45-26 victory over Northmor. Clark’s 467 yards are both school and Mid Ohio Athletic Conference records.

Week 8 Runner-Up: Jacob Hall, RB, Tippecanoe

Became his school’s all-time leading rusher on Friday in a 42-0 win over Tecumseh. Hall ran for 151 yards and four TDs on 18 carries. He surpassed the old record of 4,243 (set by Andy Vanover in 2003) and now has 4,278. Hall is headed to Brown.

ONG JJH Ohio Team of the Week

Week 8 Winner: Mohawk

The Warriors started the season 0-4 but beat Kansas Lakota 57-26 to win their fourth straight and move into a tie atop the Midland Athletic League standings. Mohawk has also moved into the seventh spot in Region 24 playoff points. Against Lakota, Gunnar Johnson ran for 212 yards and three TDs on 27 carries, while Eric Maskey added 165 yards and three TDs (including a state record trying 99-yarder) on 11 carries. Logan Stillberger added 140 yards and two TDs (including a 96-yarder) on just three carries. Mohawk ran for 515 yards.

Week 8 Runner-Up: Circleville

The Tigers won the Pickaway County title and moved into a first place tie atop the Mid-State League Buckeye Division with a 26-14 win over Logan Elm. QB David Burroughs threw for 115 yards and two TDs and ran for 110 yards and two TDs. LE gained just 76 yards in the second half.
