JJHuddle is proud to announce that the Ohio National Guard will again sponsor the ONG JJHuddle Player and Team of the Week awards in Football and Basketball during the 2013-2014 school year.

Each week during the football, boys basketball and girls basketball regular seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Ohio National Guard Ohio Team and Player of the Week. Each weekly winner will receive an award (a banner) from the National Guard.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted in the JJHuddle Football Forums each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the 10 weekly finalists on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

Winners receive a personalized banner suitable for hanging from the Ohio National Guard.

Week 8 Nominees

DeAntae Townsend, RB, Columbus Independence: Turned in the fifth highest single-game rushing total in state history with 486 yards (and seven TDs) on 32 carries in an 88-20 win over Columbus West. Townsend actually replaced Independence grad Devin Clodfelter at No. 5. Clodfeleter had 484 yards against West in 2009.

Deone Lindsey, RB, Columbus South: Secord eight TDs, accounted for 56 points and ran for 298 yards in 70-0 win over Africentric. Lindsey ran for seven TDs, returned a fumble for a TD, threw for three 2-point conversions and ran for a 2-point conversion.

Evan Ulinski, WR, Woodmore: Caught four TD passes and returned two TDs for punts in 69-0 win over Fostoria. Ulinski caught 10 passes for 134 yards.

Jacob Harrison, QB, Chaminade Julienne: Completed 19-of-31 passes for 272 yards and two TDs and carried the ball 27 times for 208 yards and three TDs in 42-35 win over Fenwick.

Will Marty, QB, Wyoming: Set a new school record for career TD passes (has 66 now) after throwing for two in 47-7 win over Mariemont. Marty completed 21-of-32 passes for 307 yards and two TDs. He also ran for 105 yards and a TD.

Jalen Nelson, RB, Springfield Shawnee: Ran for a school record 308 yards and five TDs on 28 carries in 34-33 win over Bellefontaine.

Jacob Hall, RB, Tippecanoe: Became his school’s all-time leading rusher on Friday in a 42-0 win over Tecumseh. Hall ran for 151 yards and four TDs on 18 carries. He surpassed the old record of 4,243 (set by Andy Vanover in 2003) and now has 4,278. Hall is headed to Brown.

Tyler Anderson, RB, New Richmond: Ran for a school record 343 yards and six TDs on 27 carries in 56-24 win over Goshen.

Mason Clark, QB, Elgin: Completed 23 of 37 passes for 467 yards and six touchdowns in a 45-26 victory over Northmor.

Kolton Edmondson, Loudonville: Carried the ball 28 times for 374 yards and four TDs in 39-14 win over Danville.

    Mason Clark has been nominated for the ohio national guard athetic of the week. Please vote for him as he has returned this year for an acl injury to have had four expectional games to include passing over four hundred yards and 5 touchdowns in one game prior to this week when he passed for 467 yards and 6 touchdowns. Amon has been a role model for numerous athetis and is well desiring of this honor.
