This senior class of Garrettsville Garfield (James A. Garfield) outscored playoff opponenets 10 to 0 their freshman year before losing to eventual State Champion CVCA (who is now in Division 2). Their sophomore year lost to State Ranked Columbiana Crestview 1 to 0 in OT on a golden goal (which they beat Crestview last year to win the District). Lost in the Regional Semi-finals to Northwestern their junior year (fall 2012), and has returned 9 of their 11 starters and is currently 11-0-0 posting five shutouts and only giving up four goals in their last nine games (outscoring opponents 38 to 7 so far this season).

Garrettsville Garfield scored 5 goals in the first 10 minutes tonight, then the JV came in for the rest of the first half (since it’s a small school and doesn’t have a JV schedule). Scored a goal in the first minute of the second half and the coach told them not to shoot again, so they won 6 to 0. Record 12-0-0 (8-0-0 P.T.C). 4th straight shutout and 6th overall.
