JJHuddle nets two Ohio SPJ Awards; Frantz wins Best “Editorial Writing” and “Sports Coverage”

Eric Frantz, the Managing Editor of JJHuddle.com, earned two firsts today in the Society of Professional Journalists 2013 “Ohio’s Best Journalism” competition. Frantz won the categories of “Best Sports Coverage” and “Best Editorial Writing” in the online division.

Frantz’s winning editorial selection was his entry “ATW: One More Helping of Public vs Private: Can We make This One Count?”

His winning sports coverage was for the Ohio HS Football State Finals.

In June, Frantz won the award for “Best Sports Columnist” in the SPJ Cincinnati Pro Chapter competition for the fifth consecutive year. He also finished first in “Best Sports Blog” and “Best Deadline/Breaking News Story” for the second year in a row.

“Ohio’s Best Journalism” winners will be honored at an awards luncheon in October at the Columbus Zoo.
