Region 14 Preview

Keep An Eye On

*Batavia (11-1, Region 16 semifinalist): The Bulldogs fell to eventual state champion Clinton-Massie in the regional semis last year.

*Cincinnati McNicholas (7-4, D-III Region 12 quarterfinalist): The Rockets have been in the playoffs two of the last three years and will try to make back-to-back appearances from the first time since 2000-01. The challenge is steep. McNick loses 10 All-GCL performers, including seven first teamers and POY Austin Ernst. First team GCL OL Bryan Corpuz (sr.) will block for returning second team RB Sean Bryne (jr.). Bryne ran for 390 yards rushing, 413 receiving and eight TDs last season.

*Dayton Oakwood (2-8): The Lumberjacks will lean on returning All-SWBL QB Max Banke (sr.) and RB Cory Carter (sr.). Keep an eye on the junior dupe of LB Austin Payne and OL/DL Pat Roberts.

*Eaton (6-4): Line play will be strong for the Eagles who return seniors Steven Ritchie and Tyler Bulach and junior Cole Howard on the OL and DL. All three were All-SWBL.

*Greenfield McClain (7-3): The Tigers return senior defensive standouts in LB Chris Sellman, Greenfield McClain, 5-8, 185) and DB Thomas Schrader (6-2, 195).

*Jonathan Alder (4-5): The Pioneers had a string of 11 straight playoff appearances snapped last season. This season Alder ends years of independent status when it begins play as a member of the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference.

*Pomeroy Meigs (3-7): The Marauders will lean on senior RB/DB Devon Cundiff and junior TE/LB Ty Phelps. Both were All-TVC Ohio Division last year.
