Frantz named top columnist fifth year in a row; wins three SPJ awards

of Professional Journalists Cincinnati Pro Chapter HOF and Awards
banquet in downtown Cincinnati on Wednesday.


JJHuddle Managing Editor Eric Frantz earned three firsts at the Society of Professional Journalists Cincinnati Pro Chapter HOF and Awards banquet in downtown Cincinnati on Wednesday.

For the fifth year in a row Frantz was recognized by the Cincinnati SPJ as the “Best Sports Columnist” for work that appeared in 2012.

Frantz also finished first in Best Sports Blog” for the second year in a row for his “Ohio HS Insider” series. 

Frantz finished first in the “Best Deadline/Breaking News Story” for the second year in a row as well. The article that won was “Fairmont-Centerville Square Off.”

Frantz was also a finalist in the Sports General or Feature category.

The Cincinnati SPJ competition includes media in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
