According to the 40,000-plus votes Orrville’s Hannah Plybon was the 2013 Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio Girls Basketball Player of the Year Award. After netting over 11,000 votes, Plybon recently scored her award…


The voting has concluded for the first annual Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio HS Girls Basketball Player Of the Year and the winner is…Orrville senior Hannah Plybon. During the regular season, over 200,000 votes were cast in the weekly competitions. During the three week long POY voting window, Plybon collected over 11,000 votes.

The senior G and Akron recruit earned Week 3 POW honors after scoring 25
points in a 62-32 win
over New Lexington to became her program’s all-time leading scorer. Plybon broke the previous school record of 1,470
points set by former Ohio State player Stacie Howard over 20 years ago.
Since then, Plybon has continued to add to her resume. Consider…she become
the school’s all-time leading scorer (boys or girls) when she scored 29
points in a win over Mansfield Senior to surpass Marcell Denson’s record of 1,722 points; she is Wayne County’s all-time leading scorer and ends with 2,107 points; she is a three-time first team All-Ohioan in D-III; and she led Orrville to its first state tournament since 1993.

1. Hannah Plybon, Orrville: 11,693 votes

2. Lyndsay Mayle, Geneva: 11,472 votes

3. Kathryn Westbeld, Kettering Fairmont: 10,097 votes
