The regular season competition for the Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio HS Girls Basketball Team and Player Of the Week is over. Now it’s time to decide the Team and Player of the Year. During the regular season, over 200,000 votes were cast in the weekly competitions, which generated our 22 finalists for the year-end awards. Here’s who won what in Weeks 1-11 and who You Can Vote for:

Week 1: Kersey Long, Galloway Westland (Vote Here)

Senior G earned Week 1 POW honors after scoring 73 points in three games. He helped the Cougars win the championship of the Grove City Tournament by scoring 25 points in wins over Brunswick and Grove City and added 23 in a win over Marysville. Long was named first team All OCC-Central Division.

Week 2: Luke Kennard, Franklin (Vote Here)

Sophomore PG earned Week 2 POW honors after registering a triple double (24 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists) in a 100-65 win over Valley View. He also had 22 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in a win over Oxford Talawanda. Kennard ended the regular season averaging 27.4 points per game and eclipsed 30 six times. His high-game was 43 points in a win over Orem (Utah) during the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach (where Kennard was named MVP).

Week 3: Ryan Bush, Salem (Vote Here)

Senior G earned Week 3 POW honors after scoring a then career-high 38 points (hit career-high five 3s) in a 69-54 win over East Liverpool. He then matched that effort (38 points) in a win over Canton South and surpassed it (with 47 points) in a win over Youngstown Liberty. Bush ended the regular season averaging 22.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.3 steals.

Week 4/5: Eric Cellier, Toledo Christian (Vote Here)

Senior G earned Week 4/5 POW honors after having a near perfect night shooting in a 57-44 win over Ottawa Hills. Cellier was 7-of-8 from the floor (3-of-3 from 3) and 9-of-9 from the free throw line for 26 points. He also had five rebounds, five steals and three assists. In a win over Van Buren, Cellier had 24 points (9-of-11 from field, 5-of-7 from line) and four assists. Cellier, who surpassed 1,000 career points this season, helped TC win the Toledo Area Athletic Conference title by averaging a league-best 21.7 points.

Week 6: Shade Brubaker, Tri-Village (Vote Here)

Senior G broke the school single-game record for 3-pointers with nine in an 81-20 win over National Trail. Brubaker finished with 34 points. Brubaker is a two-time first team Cross County Conference selection.

Week 7: Connor Myslowski, West Carrollton (Vote Here)

Senior F earend Week 7 POW honors after setting the school career record for steals with 187 as the Pirates beat Lebanon 76-66. Myslowski ended the game with 30 points, 10 rebounds and four steals. Earlier in the season, Myslowski surpassed 1,000 career points and became the school’s all-time 3-point leader. He finished the regular season averaging 21.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.3 steals and was named to the Greater Western Ohio Conference All-Division and Conference teams.

Week 8: Andrew Benintendi, Madeira (Vote Here)

Senior G earned Week 8 POW honors after scoring 41 points and hitting seven 3s in an 83-46 win over Mariemont. This was on the heels of scoring 76 points in three games at last weekend’s inaugural Royal 8 Hardwood Classic at Fairfield. During that tourney, Benintendi became the school’s all-time leading scorer (previous record was 1,455).

Week 9: Javon Bess, Gahanna Lincoln (Vote Here)

Junior SF won the Week 9 POW honor after leading the Lions in scoring in wins over Canal Winchester, Lancaster and Reynoldsburg with 30, 18 and 19 points, respectively. Named first team All OCC-Ohio Division after averaging 18.5 points in regular season.

Week 10: Zac Carter, Ironton (Vote Here)

Senior G earned Week 10 POW honors after breaking the Ironton career scoring record when he scored 37 points in an 84-56 win over Spring Valley (W.V.) to give him 1,598. The old record of 1,596 was held by Dennis Gagai. Carter hit 20-of-24 free throws against SV. Carter ended the regular season averaging 24 points, five rebounds, four aissts and 3.2 steals. His high-game was 44 points.

Week 11: Doug Rasch, Bellbrook (Vote Here)

Senior G earend Week 11 POW honors after scoring 36 points (six 3s) in an 84-77 win over Beavercreek to ended the regular season as the first Bellbrook player in 30 years to average more than 20 points a game (Rasch averaged 20.7 points). The last Bellbrook player to surpass a 20-point average was Jim Brucken at 21.3 in 1983.

*Week 1: Cincinnati Roger Bacon (Vote Here)

The Spartans won Week 1 TOW honors after opening the season with wins over Finneytown (70-41), Winton Woods (68-56) and LaSalle (43-41). Against LaSalle and Winton Woods, RB rallied from halftime deficits. Since then the Spartans capped the regular 19-3 and finished second in the final National Guard JJHuddle Division III Power Poll. They also won the Greater Catholic League Central Division title by six games.

*Week 2: Beachwood (Vote Here)

The D-III Bison earned the Week 2 TOW honor after pulling off a statement win with a 66-47 win over D-I Massillon Washington. Beachwood led 19-12 after the first quarter before scoring the first nine points of the second to blow open the game. Beachwood finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the final National Guard JJHuddle D-III Power Poll. Their lone losses were to D-I St. Edward (by three) and D-IV No. 4 Richmond Heights (twice).

The Eagles earned Week 3 TOW honors by remaining unbeaten with wins over Columbus Ready and previously unbeaten Bexley. The Eagles ended the regular season 21-1 and ranked No. 9 in the final National Guard JJHuddle D-III Power Poll.

*Week 4: Hannibal River (Vote Here)

The Pilots earned Week 4/5 TOW honors after hitting 37 3s in three games. They hit 15 in a loss to Athens, 15 in a win over Magnolia (WV) and seven in a win over Shenandoah. River finished the regular season 14-6 and earned the No. 1 seed in the Byesville District.

*Week 5/6: Whitmer (Vote Here)

Despite scoring just six first half points, the Panthers fought back to beat host and then-ONG JJH Power Poll No. 1 Toledo Central Catholic 39-30 to win Week 6 TOW honors. Whitmer held TCC to 4-of-25 shooting from the floor in the second half and 11 total points. Whitmer also beat Start. The Panthers finished the regular season 17-5 and ranked No. 10 I the final National Guard JJHuddle D-I Power Poll.

*Week 7: Bloom-Carroll (Vote Here)

The Bulldogs won Week 7 TOW honors after remaining unbeaten by winning three games in four nights. B-C had victories over Columbus Academy (73-59), rival Canal Winchester (62-46) and Detroit Westside Christian (85-61). The Bulldogs finished the regular season 21-1 and ranked No. 8 in the final National Guard JJHuddle D-III Power Poll. B-C also won its second straight Mid-State League Buckeye Division title and ran its MSL win streak to 32.

*Week 8: Cincinnati McNicholas (Vote Here)

The Rockets ended the week above .500 and riding a three-game win streak following a shocking 51-49 win over Roger Bacon in which McNick rallied from a 27-20 halftime deficit. The Rockets also produced a key road win at Chaminade Julienne 44-29. After starting the season 6-7, McNick finished it 6-3.

*Week 9: New Bremen (Vote Here)

The Cardinals earned Week 9 TOW honors after forcing a three-way tie for first place in the MAC by handing host St. Henry its first conference lost 60-53. The next night, New Bremen beat Botkins (51-41). The Cardinals finished second in the MAC (one game behind St. Henry and Delphos St. John’s) and finished the regular season 17-5.

*Week 10: Fenwick (Vote Here)

The Falcons earned Week 10 TOW honors after improving to 9-1 in their last 10 games and remaining in contention for a Greater Catholic League North Division title by beating Alter and Trenton Edgewood. The Alter victory avenged a 69-37 loss to the Knights on Jan. 11. Fenwick, the No. 1 seed in the D-III Dayton sectional, finished runner-up to Alter in the GCL North. After opening the season 8-3, the Falcons are 12-1 since with an OT loss to Elder the lone blemish.

*Week 11: Tri-Village (Vote Here)

The Patriots earned Week 11 TOW honors after capping a perfect 22-0 season with wins over Lehman Catholic (55-26), Newton (62-45) and Stivers (73-63). TV, which finished No. 3 in the final National Guard JJHuddle D-IV Power Poll and won the Cross County Conference, won its regular season games by an average of 34.6 points.
