Alter senior point guard Jaaron Simmons is one of Ohio’s top unsigned seniors. But he plans to end the speculation soon. Who’s he considering and what’s the plan?
“I’m not making a final list until the end of the season,” Simmons said. “Probably a week after the season I’ll decide. I have three more official visits. So I have to narrow it down a lot.”
He certainly does.
Simmons has eliminated local schools Dayton and Xavier because of their lack of a need at PG, but he’s still considering quite a few schools.
“Houston, Boise State, Tulane, Virginia Tech, Cleveland State, Tennessee Tech, Fairfield, Liberty…and Washington State,” Simmons said.
As for his visits, Simmons hasn’t decided which trips to take yet either.
His decision making on the court is much faster.
Simmons leads the Greater Catholic League in scoring (23.5 points) and is third in assists (3.9).
On Wednesday he helped Alter win the outright GCL North title with a 77-45 win over Hamilton Badin. The game was the last home game for legendary Alter HC Joe Petrocelli.
“He’s really special and He can score with the best of them,” Petrocelli said. “He’s done a fantastic job for us since he was a freshman.
“He’s going to go someplace and make somebody a really nice scoring point guard.”
