A year ago it went all the way to National Signing Day, but in the end Urban Meyer was able to “flip” Cleveland Heights offensive lineman Kyle Dodson from his Wisconsin commitment to Ohio State.

It might go to the end again this year before wide receiver Shelton Gibson
(Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) makes his decision. Gibson
was in Columbus over the weekend making an official visit to Ohio State.
He made the visit with Cleveland Heights coach Jeff Rotsky.

“It went good,” Rotsky said. “He got a chance to spend a lot of
time with coach Meyer and the coaches. He had several meetings with
them. Kyle was his host. It was very good.”

Gibson has now made official visits to Ohio State, West Virginia and Kentucky.

“I would guess he will take at least one if not two more visits,”
Rotsky said. “I don’t know who he will visit – I don’t want to speak
for him. But Tennessee, Louisville, Arkansas and North Carolina State
are in there.”

At this point at least, it seems likely that Gibson will visit Tennessee this coming weekend.

Rotsky, as he said last week, said Gibson is “fine” academically.

“My guess is he will announce on Signing Day,” Rotsky said. “I could be wrong, but that is my guess.”

The 6-foot-0 and 175-pound Gibson had a huge senior season. He
averaged over 10 receptions per game. Gibson, a 4-star prospect, is the
No. 14 prospect in the state of Ohio in the 247Sports rankings.

Kurelic’s Comment: I continue to think Gibson wants to be a
Buckeye. But if the OSU coaches are not certain on Signing Day when it
comes to the NCAA Clearinghouse, it would remain to see if there would
be room for Gibson in this class.
