After two weeks of the Ohio HS wrestling season, here’s how we see
things. Today we continue the third annual JJHuddle Wrestling Power
Polls wiht the latest rankings (Week 2). Who are the No. 1s…In the Top 10?




Polls on Dec. 13, 2012

Some movement in the first poll of the season. Most of the heavyweights in the state were at the Ironman, some performed well and others…. Not so much.



1. Lakewood St. Edward – Finished fourth at Ironman, second among Ohio teams to Graham.
2. Massillon Perry – Finished sixth at Ironman.
3. Marysville – Claimed Marysville Duals title.
4. Brecksville Broadview Heights – Finished ninth at Ironman.
5. Moeller – Finished 25th at Ironman
6. Centerville – Defeated Loveland in dual.
7. Solon – Brandon Thompson and Anthony Collica give Solon a strong base with state experience.
8. Fairmont – Claimed Firebird Classic title.
9. Maple Hts. – Richard Robertson provides a solid base for Maple Hts. to build around.
10. Mt. Vernon – Dakota Riley anchors a strong squad.



1. Graham – Any questions about whether or not the Falcons may be down this year should have been silenced after third place finish at Ironman.
2. Steubenville – Anthony Parrada, Charlie Keenan and Greg Moray give the Big Red a strong core.
3. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy – Finished 16th at Ironman.
4. Walsh Jesuit – Finished 33rd at Ironman
5. Lexington – Jacob Kasper and John Lehner anchor a strong line up.
6. Clyde – Chris Moore and Brad Smith will help keep the Fliers on the big board.
7. Eaton – Finished third at Firebird Classic.
8. Mentor Lake Catholic – Finished 36th at Ironman.
9. Akron St. Vincent St. Mary – Finished 41st at Ironman.
10. Toledo Central Catholic – Nate Hagan and Alex Mossing return with valuable state experience.



1. Troy Christian – Finished 18th at Ironman.
2. Applecreek Waynedale – Finished second at Marysville Dual in mostly D-I tournament.
3. Dayton Christian – Finished 34th at Ironman, two points behind Walsh despite taking just two wrestlers.
4. Delta – Kyle Keller, Tyler Fahrer and Jarred Martin all return with podium experience.
5. Shadyside – Ian Baker returns to pace a strong team that includes Alex Quinn.
6. Rootstown – Finished 35th at Ironman.
7. Carlisle – Down a Sandlin finished fifth at Edgewood
8. Beachwood – Sammy Gross and Ryan Harris return to help Beachwood contend.
9. Garrettsville Garfield – GG gets a big boost from the return of Aaron Yonker and Kevin Stock.
10. West Jefferson – Gennar Feucht brings state experience back to help West Jeff.
