BIGGEST SURPRISE IN WEEK 2
Avon handles undefeated Tiffin Columbian: The Eagles beat the undefeated Tornadoes for the second straight season in the Region 6 postseason at Fremont’s Don paul Stadium. Last year Avon won 35-21 in the regional final. This year it was 24-14 in the semis. The Eagles forced four turnovers.
BIGGEST SURPRISE TEAM LEFT
Chardon: After winning 10 games the last three years, the Hilltoppers won their 10th game this season with a 34-15 win over Kenston in the Region 5 semifinals.
BEST REGIONAL FINAL GAME
Cincinnati Turpin (12-0) vs. Trotwood-Madison (10-2): The AP’s No. 1 ranked team (Turpin) takes on the defending state champion (Trotwood). Turpin is led by senior QB Connor Jansen who has thrown for 1,612 yards and 16 TDs and rushed for 910 yards and 18 TDs this season. Trotwood counters with RBs Isreal Green (1,322 yards/19 TDs) and Ashton Jackson (923 yards/18 TDs).
