You vote, you decide…who had Ohio’s best Team performance in Week 9? Find out who the nominees for the Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio Football Team of the Week are here and how to pick the winner. The choices are impressive…

JJHuddle is proud to announce a new partnership with the Ohio
National Guard that will impact Ohio High School Football (and
Basketball) positively during the 2012-2013 school year. Here’s how…

Each week during the football, boys basketball and girls basketball regular seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Ohio National Guard Ohio Team of the Week. Each weekly winner will receive an award from the National Guard at their school. At the end of the year, the weekly winners will be entered into a competition for the Team of the Year.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted in the JJHuddle Football
Forums on Friday. Fans will then nominate top performances/players. We
will announce the 10 weekly finalists on JJHuddle at noon on Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Thursday, after which the winner will be announced.

Week 9 Nominees

The Beavers beat traditional power Centerville for just the second time since 1970 with a 27-21 decision. Junior Arius Moore scored the game-winning TD on a 99-yard run, which tied the school record held by current girls basketball coach Ed Zink. Zink, who set the record in 1969, is the winningest coach in Ohio HS girls basketball history.

The Falcons beat Alter for the first time ever with a 35-34 win. Fenwick stuffed an Alter 2-point conversion to secure the victory. With a win over Carroll, the Falcons will earn a share of their first ever GCL Divisional title.

The Wildcats won their second straight Southwestern Buckeye League Southwest Division title with a 41-13 win over Brookville. It’s the first time since 1987-89 that Franklin has won back-to-back football league titles.

*Pickerington Central
The Tigers won the 100th game in program history (since the district split in 2003) with a 44-7 win over Groveport-Madison. Pick Central reached the milestone in 120 games. The victory was also head coach Jay Sharrett’s 100th career victory (Sharrett took over in 2003). Since 2003, the Tigers own eight playoff berths, seven OCC tiles, three regional titles and two state finals appearances.

*Glouster Trimble
The Tomcats haven’t been scored on since Week 3. Trimble’s latest 21-0 win over Racine Southern was its sixth straight shutout win. The Tomcats have allowed 45 points all season.

The Hawks had two 200-yard rushers in a 41-6 win over Coshocton. Senior RB Ja’Wuan Woodley ran for 212 yards and three TDs on 26 carries, while senior RB Marcellus Calhoun had 211 yards and three TDs on 29 carries.  Hartley had 540 yards of offense, including 479 rushing.

*Van Wert
The Cougars snapped an 18-game losing streak with a 26-6 win over St. Marys.

*Urichsville Claymont
The Mustangs scored a school record 67 points and had over 400 yards of offense in a 67-14 win over Meadowbrook. Claymont scored on offense, defense, and special teams and had 26 points in the first 2:40 of the game. Seven different players scored TDs for the Mustangs who forced six turnovers.

The Wildcats (8-0-1) continue to impress and moved one step closer to the school’s first undefeated season since 1976 with a 48-7 win over Sylvania Northview. The victory wrapped a Northern Lakes League title as well. It’s been a season to remember for Napoleon, which made the playoffs last year at 5-5 and loss in the first round. In Week 1, RB Charlie Harris set the school single-game rushing record with 302 yards in a win over Defiance. Senior WR Jordan Lauf has also set a school single-season record with 12 receiving TDs. Lauf played soccer the last two years.

*St. Edward
The Eagles remained unbeaten by rallying from a 42-21 third quarter deficit en route to a 49-42 win over host Moeller. St. Ed was led by senior RB Dwayne Aaron who ran for 250 yards and four TDs on 36 carries. Senior QB Ryan Fallon added three TDs and 259 yards on 16-of-30 passing. The Eagles had 548 yards of offense. In addition to the win over Moeller, St. Ed has also beaten GCL South powers St. Xavier and Elder this season.
