Each week during the football, boys basketball and girls basketball regular seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Ohio National Guard Ohio Player of the Week. Each weekly winner will receive an award from the National Guard at their school. At the end of the year, the weekly winners will be entered into a competition for the Player of the Year.
How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted in the JJHuddle Football
Forums on Friday. Fans will then nominate top performances/players. We
will announce the 10 weekly finalists on JJHuddle at noon on Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Thursday, after which the winner will be announced.

Week 5 Nominees
*Jamal Johnson, New Philadelphia
Junior RB carried the ball 42 times for 336 yards and six TDs in a 42-21 win over Canal Fulton Northwest. Johnson went over 1,000 yards with the effort (1,201 to date). It was his second 300-yard game this season.
*Kellen Decker, Ada
Senior RB ran for 313 yards and five TDs on 16 carries in a 55-29 win over Bluffton.
*Kip McCann, Defiance Tinora
Senior RB carried the ball 28 times for 300 yards and three TDs in a 34-13 win over Hicksville.
*Stefan Yuhas, Niles McKinley
Became the first QB in program history (108 years) to run for over 200 yards in a game with 264 in a 42-23 win over Beaver Local. He also ran for two TDs and threw for 71 yards. Through five games, Yuhas has rushed for 854 yards and 11 TDs and thrown for 654 and seven, respectively. He’s rushed and passed for over 100 yards in four of five games.
*Andy Guilford, Sherwood Fairview
WR caught 11 passes for 262 yards and three TDs in a 37-14 win over Ayersville. The 262 ranks No. 21 on the all-time single-game list according to the OHSAA (replacing former Fairview WR’s 261 yards in 2003).
*Kale Huss, Mansfield Madison
RB ran for a school-record 312 yards and four TDs on 32 carries in a 49-42 win over Wooster.
*Amir Edwards, Toledo Central Catholic
Senior RB ran for 232 yards and four TDs in a 56-27 win over Findlay.
*Tyler Stoyle, Centerburg
QB threw five TDs in a 42-21 win over East Knox. He completed 17-of-22 passes for 218 yards.
*David Burroughs, Circleville
RB carried the ball 22 times for 222 yards and three TDs and also threw for a TD in a 36-15 win over previously unbeaten Hamilton Township.
*Thomas Wibbeler, Zanesville
A week after throwing for 402 yards and five TDs in a win over Youngstown Ursuline, the junior QB threw for 399 yards and five more TDs in a 42-0 win over Jonathan Alder. Wibbeler completed 23-of-25 passes against Alder and at one point connected on 11 straight.

*Heath Harding, Dayton Christian: Carried the ball nine times for 213 yards (26.7 yards per carry) and three TDs in a 47-0 win over Fairfield Christian.
*James Canan, Bradford: Senior RB ran for 419 yards and five TDs on 21 carries in a 48-14 win overt Ansonia.

*Dylan McCaleb, Ashtabula Edgewood: RB carried the ball 26 times for 269 yards and three TDs in a 34-13 win over Thompson Ledgemont.
*Andy Robinson, Sherwood Fairview: Sophomore QB completed 23-of-34 passes for 355 yards and five TDs in a 37-14 win over Ayersville.
*Breck Turner, Norwalk: Sophomore RB carried the ball just eight times but produced 227 yards and three TDs in a 46-25 win over Delta.
*Brad Smith, Clyde: Senior RB carried the ball 27 times for 229 yards and three TDs and threw for a TD in a 56-14 win over Margaretta.
*Cody Farley, Johnstown-Monroe: Sophomore RB ran for 264 yards and two TDs on 31 carries in a 23-15 win over Loudonville.
*Tristan Parker, Ottawa-Glandorf: Senior RB carried the ball 27 times for 201 yards and three TDs in a 52-16 win over Kenton.
