rankings return today with the release of the Division I Week 2 poll. A reminder, JJHuddle is proud to announce that the Ohio National Guard has

DIVISION III WEEK 3 RANKINGS

1. Chagrin Falls (2-0)
Last Week: The Tigers led Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin by 20 points at halftime but found themselves in a tie game (23-23) with 4:56 to go. That’s when senior QB Tommy Iammarino led Chagrin Falls on a 71-yard TD drive that was capped with his 19-yard TD pass to Ben Vandertill.

2. Youngstown Mooney (1-1)
Last Week: The Cardinals scored 23 points in the fourth quarter to blow open a close game and beat Boardman 37-0.

3. Alter (2-0)
Last Week: Senior QB Malik Zaire accounted for five TDs as the Knights beat host Guerin Catholic (Ind.) 49-21. Zaire has accounted for 11 TDs in two games.

4. Dayton Thurgood Marshall (2-0)
Last Week: The Cougars racked up 701 yards of offense, including 647 yards rushing on 50 attempts (12.9 yards per carry) in a 69-10 win over Chaminade Julienne. Denzel Norvell carried the ball 20 times for 286 yards and six TDs, while Vayant Copeland had 191 yards and two TDs on nine carries.

Result: The Pioneers beat their second straight D_I team with a 30-10 win over Marysville. Alder’s defense forced four-second half turnovers (including two INTs by Brad Miller).

Last Week: The Bulldogs rallied from a 7-0 deficit with 21 unanswered points to beat Wapakoneta 21-14. Elida held Wapak to 83 yards rushing.

Last Week: Big Red rallied from a fourth quarter deficit to beat visiting Benedictine 32-28. RB Teshawn Luke led Steubenville with 91 yards and two TDs on 11 carries.

8. Clyde (1-1)
Last Week:
Led by RB Kyle Mange (132 yards and two TDs), the Fliers built an 18-popint fourth quarter lead and held on to beat Pemberville Eastwood 28-23.

9. Mentor Lake Catholic (1-1)
Last Week: The Cougars got blindsided by Brunswick and fell 38-10. Maybe the defeat shouldn’t be that shocking considering Brunswick has won 37 of its last 38 home nonconference games.

Last Week: Missing eight players due to injury and suspensions – including four defensive starters and workhorse RB Alex McCrory (ankle) – the Braves fell 41-14 to D-I Troy.
