Central Ohio’s No. 1 HS Football Rankings continue today with the release of the Week 2 JJHuddle/NBC4 Central Ohio Power Poll. Here’s how things look after the season openers…


The fourth annual JJHuddle/NBC4 Central Ohio Power Poll continues…See who is where after the opening weekend.

This year JJHuddle and NBC4 will again contest separate polls for
Divisions I, II, III and IV. Divisions V and VI will remained combined.

POLL CHAMPIONS WILL BE NAMED FOLLOWING THE REGULAR SEASON

Central Ohio Power Polls: Week 3

DIVISON I

1. Pickerington North (2-0)
Result: The Panthers pounded out 439 yards rushing in a 41-20 win over visiting Cincinnati Princeton. Senior RB Godwin Igwebuike ran for 201 yards and two TDs on eight carries. He scored on his firs two touches (88 and 85 yards).

2. Dublin Coffman (2-0)
Result: Head coach Mark Crabtree won his 100th game with the Rocks as Coffman beat Dublin Scioto 34-14. Coffman had 42 yards (on just 12 plays) at halftime but led 13-7. The Rocks opened the second half with 21 unanswered points.

3. Pickerington Central (1-1)
Result: Used a 21-point third quarter to turn a 17-16 halftime lead into a 45-24 win over Marion-Franklin. RB Brent Walton went for 87 yards and two TDs on 14 carries.

4. Westerville South (2-0)
Result: QB Nick Renzetti had another monster game in a 48-21 win over visiting Clayton Northmont. Renzetti threw for four TDs and over 300 yards (347) for the second straight week.

5. Hilliard Darby (2-0)
Result: The Panthers snapped a four-year losing streak (last three by shutout) to their rival Hilliard Davidson with a 17-3 victory. Senior RB Caleb Day ran for 94 yards and two TDs.

1. Marion-Franklin (1-1)
Result: Three turnovers turned into three Pickerington Central scores in 45-24 loss.

Result: Led by senior RB Austin Jones’ four rushing TDs, the Scotties beat Maysville 47-7. QB Nathan Strock added 201 yards passing and two TDs.

Result: QB Zach Johnson accounted for five TDs (four passing, one rushing) in a 56-7 win over London.

Result: QB Thomas Wibbler threw for 232 yards and three TDs and added a 47-yard TD run in a 28-7 win over Licking Valley.

Result: Eagles lost second straight nail-bitter with a 23-20 OT loss to Westerville Central. Last week the Eagles lost 10-9 to Reynoldsburg.

1. Alder (2-0)
Result: The Pioneers beat their second straight D_I team with a 30-10 win over Marysville. Alder’s defense forced four-second half turnovers (including two INTs by Brad Miller).

2. DeSales (1-1)
Result: The Stallions rallied with two long fourth quarter TD runs to beat Brookhaven 32-26. Tyler West went 62-yards for a TD with 2:56 to go to give DeSales its first lead (24-18). QB J.T. Blumbaugh added a 78-yard TD run with 1:19 to go. Blumbaugh ended with 189 yards and three TDs on 20 caries.

Result: Eagles recorded impressive road win with 21-3 victory over Hamilton.

Result: Senior QB David Fraley completed 13-of-19 passes for 299 yards and three TDs as the Blue Aces beat Utica 41-0. Fraley also ran for a score.

Result: The Warriors blew a 16-6 fourth quarter lead and fell 27-23 to St. Charles. The Cardinals scored a TD on a fake field goal with 1:30 to go to pull out the win.

Result: The Hawks scored 42 points in the first half en route to a 42-7 win over Columbus Academy.

Result: Led by senior RB/DB Kam Smith, the Wildcats beat Marion Pleasant 21-14 Smith ran for a TD, returned a kickoff for a TD and intercepted a pass on Pleasant’s last drive to secure the victory.

3. Westfall (1-1)
Result: QB Trent Williamson threw two fourth quarter TDs to Bobby Staten and the Mustangs converted two 2-point conversions to beat Logan Elm 28-27.

Result: Aces ran for three TDs in the first half en route to beating Zane Trace 31-13. Nick Brumfield ran for two TDs.
