Friday Night Lights. Are back…

Tonight is the first Friday of the 2012 Ohio High School Football Season. And of course, no one has you covered like JJHuddle. Literally…no one. We have everything you want and then some…

Below is a checklist of EVERYTHING you would want and need to know about the 2012 Ohio High School Football Season.

And just for fun, here’s five items we’ll be watching tonight and this year…

2012 STORYLINES

1. Will Bucyrus Wynford lose Week 1?
The Royals are riding the state’s longest regular season win streak (58 games) and are 69-1 in their last 70 Week 1-10 games. That could all change tonight. Wynford opens at home against Caledonia River Valley, which returns a formidable D-III squad. Wynford is D-V and has a new coach in Gabe Helbert.

2. Team bearing the biggest burden? Trotwood-Madison. T-M has played in the last two D-II state finals and is coming off a 15-0 season and state championship. The Rams defense features a pair of cornerbacks headed to Ohio State and Illinois, a linebacker headed to Michigan and a DL headed to Illinois. How explosive is the offense? The second string RB has offers from Purdue and Illinois.

3. Team bearing the biggest burden II? Coldwater. For years we’ve heard this class at Coldwater is the best in school history. And they’ve proven us right – and wrong. Coldwater’s senior class has the rare opportunity to play in 60 high school football games and four straight state finals. They also have the opp to win their first title during that stretch. The Cavs have lost the last three state finals to Ursuline (twice) and Kirtland.

4. Six pack: This is the last year of six state champs…next year seven trophies are awarded.

5. Rough Opener: Wellington’s last game was a Division IV first round playoff loss at eventual state runner-up Kenton. Their opener this season? Against defending D-IV state champ Norwayne.

6. Best Small School Season Opener: Lima Central Catholic vs Delphos St. John’s.
