Westerville South’s Marcus Ball, one of the top uncommitted prospects in the
state of Ohio, says he is planning to make an official visit to Michigan
State.

“My
top five is Wisconsin, Michigan State, Arizona State, Notre Dame and
Penn State,” Ball said. “All of them have offered me (a scholarship).

Those are probably going to be my five official visits – hopefully I’ll take all five.”

Providing the visit happens it will certainly not be the first
time Ball has been to Michigan State. He has visited the Spartans four
times previously including working out at MSU’s camp last month.

Ball has an impressive list of close to two dozen offers that
includes West Virginia, Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue, Pitt, Cincinnati,
Boston College and North Carolina State.

The 6-foot-3 and 210-pound Ball played quarterback during his
junior season. He passed for 1,300 yards and rushed for another 500.
Ball also saw limited duty at safety, but still picked off seven passes.

At the Spartans’ camp last month he worked out with the defensive backs.

“Michigan State and Notre Dame are recruiting me as a
safety/hybrid linebacker,” Ball said. “Wisconsin is recruiting me just
as a safety. Arizona State is recruiting me as a wide receiver.

“On defense I like safety. On offense I like quarterback or wide receiver.”

As far as whom his leader would be at this point, Ball said, “I don’t have any favorites right now.”

Ball plans to take his time, continue his evaluations and make his visits before selecting a college.
