Noteworthy News: Symmes Valley is trying to make the playoffs for the fifth straight time. They have hosted regional quarterfinals the last two years.

Schedule: The Vikings have three new teams on their schedule including Reedsville Eastern and Chillicothe Southeastern in Weeks 1 and 2. Their new Week 10 oppoenent is Buffalo (WV). Said Webb: “We feel we have a stronger schedule for 2012 than we have had in a while. Eastern is coming off a down year, but they have 8 to 10 starters back on each side of the ball. Southeastern has a lot of starters back. Buffalo is always in the playoffs in WV. We also have Chesapeake on our schedule which beat WV State Champion Wayne last season, and made the D-IV playoffs. Our league will be impoved.”

Coach’s Quote: “We have 5 to 6 starters back on each side of the ball. We feel we have players who can step into the startering spots. We lost in the second round of the playoffs last season and that left a bad taste in our mouth. We have used that to have a good winter weight lifting session. If the players continue to improve over the summer the way they have in the winter, we feel we can compete.”
