Noteworthy News: Southview returns a lot of talent with little experience. The Cougars return five starters on offense and four starters on defense. The offense will rely on Second team All District QB Austin Valdez to distribute the ball to his talented receiving corps of Brandon Stewart, Jenard Pinckney, Nate Hall, Perry Burks and Malcolm Johnson. The OL returns 300 pound tackle Derek Hartman with Guards Josiah Allen and Tim Schlachter. Andy Clark, Conor Welsch, Zach Zoltowski, Drew Gill and Hunter Topolski will contend for the remaining spots. Ahmad Parker and Joe Felker will handle the running game. The Defense will be led by LB Tino Vergiels with support from DE Ryan Stout, returning DL Barry Grant, returning SS Nate Hall, DL Jovan Palin and DL Luke Wilson. Helping Hall in the secondary will be Keith Caldwell, Jenard Pinckney, Keith Gilmore and Malcolm Johnson. Joe Felker, Leon Eggleston, Scott Magnus and Collin Duffy will assist Vergeils at the LB positions. The Cougars are attempting to win their sixth consecutive NLL title (Record) and hope to make it back to the Region 2 playoffs where they aim to claim their first D-I win.
