Potential college prospects? Jordan West, Tyler Bowman

Noteworthy News: The Indians have been in the playoffs 10 of the last 11 years (missed in 2010) and have advanced to the regional semifinals six times. Graduation hit Northwest hard in the skilled positions. The Indians lost QB Nick Riley (5,400 Yds. & 48 TDs), RB Ronnie Beers (1,790 Yds. Rushing, 1,360 Yds. Receiving, & 47 TDs, WR JC Pawlyk (1,330 Yds. Receiving, & 13 TDs), WR and Dan May (300 Yds. Receiving). Northwest does return four starters on the OL by three-year starters and seniors Jordan West, Paul Wellman and Cody Grogan 6’1” 270. Returning juniors on the line are Jerrad Cox and Jackson Schultz. At WR three starters return in senior Kyle Harris and juniors Andrew Colon and Tristan Mullane. Also returning at fullback is senior Tyler Bowman. Six starters return on defense. Three two-year starters are on the front line which includes Bowman, Grogan, and senior Matt Schley. Two-year starter senior Bryan Pawlyk along with Junior Jackson Schultz return at linebacker. The lone returner in the secondary is junior Tristan Mullane.

Schedule: The Indians have a tremendous schedule. Northwest opens with Orrville, Poland, Canton South, and Padua Franciscan. The middle of the schedule includes New Philadelphia, Akron SVSM and Columbus St. Charles. The end of the schedule includes Akron Kenmore, St Thomas Aquinas and Barberton.

Coaches Quote: “The strength of the team is in our depth. We have a strong group of lettermen who were not starters returning. Our junior class is the blessed with numbers, and there are a handful of sophomores who will give our team nice depth on both sides of the ball.”
