offer to a Buckeye State star.

The newest Michigan State offer has gone out to Pickerington North’s Godwin Igwebuike.

“They offered today,” Igwebuike said. “They came to my school
today and told my coach they wanted to offer me. That was pretty
exciting. It was Mike Tressel.”

The 6-foot-0 and 190-pound Igwebuike played both in the secondary
and at tailback during his junior season. He made 40 tackles and
intercepted five passes while rushing for 1,049 yards and averaging nine
yards per carry.

“Michigan State is recruiting me mainly as a defensive back,”
Igwebuike said. “But they know I can play on both sides of the ball. It
could be cornerback or tailback probably.”

Igwebuike is definitely going to look at Michigan State.

“It’s a great addition to my offers,” he said. “It’s a great
option. Michigan State is a great football school and good academically.
It’s definitely a good opportunity. I’m going to try to get up there
(for a visit).”

Igwebuike has 22 offers. In addition to Michigan State his list
includes Northwestern, Wisconsin, Illinois, West Virginia, Pitt,
Cincinnati, North Carolina State, Wake Forest and Duke.

Igwebuike said he does not have a leader at this point, but hopes to narrow things down soon.

“I would like to decide (on a college) in the next few months – before my senior season starts,” Igwebuike said.
