Defensive end Tracy Sprinkle
(Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) visited Ohio State ten days ago with his mother
and father and was offered a scholarship. Today Sprinkle is a Buckeye.

Sprinkle confirmed via text that he has become commitment No. 9 for Urban Meyer’s 2013 recruiting class.

Sprinkle picked Ohio State over a dozen offers including Michigan
State, Arkansas, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, Indiana, Kentucky, Syracuse
and Toledo.

His final three were the Buckeyes, Michigan State and Arkansas.

The 6-foot-4 and 250-pound Sprinkle was a varsity starter at
guard his sophomore season. He moved to the other side of the ball his
junior season and played defensive end. Sprinkle made 80 tackles
including eight sacks. He had a whopping 25 quarterback “hurries.”

Sprinkle has been recruited as a defensive lineman.

Bucknuts will follow up with more on this breaking story.

Kurelic’s Comment: Sprinkle has blown up over the past
couple of weeks including landing an offer from the Buckeyes. But he
did not want to miss out on an opportunity to play for Ohio State and
ended the recruiting process before many other offers were going to come
in.
