Thompson had scholarship offers from West Virginia, Nebraska,
Notre Dame, Missouri, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Toledo, Bowling
Green, Buffalo and a couple others before committing to the Mountaineers
in early February.
Before committing to West Virginia, Thompson left no doubt he
liked the direction the Ohio State program is headed under Urban Meyer.
“It’s really exciting,” Thompson said. “I hope I have the chance to get recruited by coach Meyer.”

Kurelic’s Comment: When I spoke with Thompson in December
before he committed to West Virginia, he listed Ohio State as one of his
favorites even though the Buckeyes had not offered. When I spoke to him
a couple weeks ago at the NIKE Combine in Massillon he said he thought
he would get an offer from the Buckeyes when he received the latest
edition of his grades. Now that the Ohio State offer has come in I
expect Thompson to seriously consider switching his commitment to OSU.
