With his basketball season now over, Rob Wheelwright
can focus more of his attention on the recruiting scene. The 6-2,
175-pound receiver out of Walnut Ridge is beginning to
plan some visits for this spring.

Wheelwright
currently holds offers from Michigan, Wisconsin, Boston College,
Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse and
West Virginia. Wolverine assistant Jerry Montgomery is heading up
Wheelwright’s recruitment for Michigan.

“I’m going to call him to set up a visit,” Wheelwright said of
Montgomery. “I like them, and I want to get to know the coaches better
and get to see the campus.”

This will mark Wheelwright’s first-ever recruiting visit to Ann Arbor.

“They’re in my top teams,” Wheelwright said of Michigan. “It’s a
good program, and I’ve always heard good things about Michigan. When I
talk to the coaches, they all seem cool, and they’re on the rise.”

Wheelwright does not claim any favorites at this stage, but the Wolverines are definitely in the mix.

The only visit Wheelwright has set is an April 21 trip to Wisconsin.
