has been logging some serious travel hours over the past few months.
The 2013 pro-style quarterback is making his way around the Big Ten, and
last weekend the junior took a visit to Ohio State.

“It was good, I liked it there,” Roback said. “It was my first
time really checking out the program, being inside and seeing how things
go, especially with the new staff. It’s a new type of system and
program coach Urban (Meyer’s) bring in, so I’m glad I got to go in there
and see how they run things and how they do it.”

Roback currently holds two scholarship offers from Bowling Green
and Toledo, and the Buckeyes’ staff said they would like to see him
throw at a camp this summer. Roback visited Illinois and Iowa two weeks
ago, and plans to visit Cincinnati next weekend.

He’s also planning a return trip to Michigan State, as the
6-foot-4, 185-pound prospect will attend MSU’s junior day February 25.
Roback said he gets ‘good vibes’ from MSU, and with the 2012 class
finished up he’s hoping to receive an offer from the Spartans later this
month.

“I hope so,” Roback said. “I’ve built relationships with them,
talked to coach (Mike) Tressel many times, talked to coach (Mark)
Dantonio many times. … They’ve seen me throw twice and mentioned I’m on
top of their list so I’m hoping they do. I gotta be positive and I think
there’s a good chance that they do.”

Roback has also built a strong relationship with new Illinois
coach Tim Beckman. The former Toledo coach had already offered Roback
with the Rockets and is continuing to show strong interest at his new
school. But Roback is also looking forward to speaking with Dantonio and
MSU’s assistants again later this month, in what will be his sixth trip
to East Lansing.

“Being able to actually talk to them and get on the same page and
not just sit there and kind of get the usual spiel that you get from a
lot of people,” Roback said regarding what he expects. “Actually have an
honest man-to-man conversation with them and really sit down and see
where I’m at, what their interest level is and if an offer will come
soon. That’s really what I want to get done with these visits. I’ve been
to these places numerous times, so now it’s getting to the time that we
gotta figure out where I’m at.”
