Marion-Franklin defensive tackle Terrell Jackson
took an official visit to Duke last month and decided to commit to the
Blue Devils. Since then, the 6-foot-3, 285-pound prospect has picked up
two new offers from Pitt and Illinois. Jackson is also hearing strong
interest from Michigan State.

“Coach
(Mike) Tressel came into my school last Friday,” Jackson said. “We
talked for a while about the official visit and what’s been going on. He
told me why they’re coming in so late. Also how they’re going to offer
me before I visit, what I should be expecting.”

MSU assistants Ted Gill and Mike Tressel went to Jackson’s game
October 4th to evaluate the senior. While they haven’t offered yet, it
seems the Spartans are close to pulling the trigger.

“What I’ve been told is when I go down to Michigan State is that
the offer is going to be there,” Jackson said. “Or they’re going to
offer me before I go down there. So either this week or next I should be
getting an offer.”

Jackson will be taking his second official visit to Illinois this
weekend, and then plans to visit MSU the weekend of January 20-22.

“I’ve always had a thing for Michigan State,” Jackson said. “I’ve
been down there for a junior day with my coach. I’ve always favored
Michigan State a lot. Now they came back in the picture about a week
ago. I’ll be down there on the 20th. We’ll see how it goes.”

Jackson plans to take his fourth and final official visit to
Pittsburgh the weekend of Jan 27-29. Jackson said after he takes all his
official visits he plans to make a final decision near National Signing
Day.

“I’m taking my visits so close to then,” Jackson said. “I’m going
to have to sit down and think about it. Right now there’s so much stuff
going on. After these visits I’ll know which one is right for me.”
