If you like offense, last Friday’s Ada-Bluffton game was for you. On a night that saw the teams combine for 1,100 yards of offense and 92 points, Ada survived Bluffton 48-44. The Bulldogs scored the game-winning TD with 64 seconds left to pull out the victory in a game that saw three fourth quarter lead changes and a tie.

Ada senior QB Konnor Baker completed 19-of-30 passes for 349 yards and two TDs and ran for 115 yards and two more TDs on 23 carries. Junior RB Kellen Decker rushed for 133 yards and three TDs on 22 carries.

Bluffton was led by QB Hunter Joseph who completed 28-of-46 passes for 435 yards and six TDs.

John Barton, Twinsburg:
Junior RB ran for seven TDs and fell one TD shy of tieing the state record for rushing TDs in a game (eight) in a 48-27 win over Brush. Barton ran for 152 yards and had 108 yards receiving.

Zack Casparro, Grove City Christian:
Senior DL blocked a punt, scored two TDs on fumble recoveries, had three sacks and tallied 14 total tackles in just one half of football as GCC beat Cincinnati College Prep Academy 42-14.

Jon Treloar, Loveland:
Senior K booted two field goals (27 and 30 yards) and added an extra-point as the Tigers snapped a three-game losing skid by beating previously unbeaten Mount Healthy 13-7. Treloar is 4-for-4 on FGs this year.  

BIG PERFORMERS

Maurice Hale, Columbus Beechcroft: Senior QB completed 18-of-29 passes for 396 yards and five TDs and ran for 97 yards and another TD on nine carries in a 50-14 win over host Columbus Whetstone. As a team the Cougars gained 645 yards.

Zach Yeckley and Jordan Sessler, Fremont St. Joseph Central Catholic: Pass and catch combo hooked up for some historical numbers in a 44-24 win over Kansas Lakota. Yeckley completed 16-of-26 passes for 274 yards and six TDs (single-game school record). Four of his TD passes went to Sessler (single-game school record for receiving TDs).

Alex Mickley, Hilliard Davidson: Senior RB ran for 235 yards and three TDs on 25 carries in a 33-0 win over Thomas Worthington.

Wes Hudson, Zanesville: Senior QB completed 8-of-8 passes for 177 yards and three TDs and ran or 91 yards and three more TDs in a 62-0 win over John Marshall (WV).

Corry Benson, Marion-Franklin: Junior QB completed 16-of-26 passes for 329 yards and six TDs in a 54-30 win over Independence.

Kainrad Noah, Ravenna Southeast: QB completed 8-of-9 passes for 242 yards and five TDs in a 63-0 win over Windham.

Nick Ranallo, Wickliffe: Senior FB ran for 268 yards and three TDs in a 26-19 win over Painesville Harvey.
   
Ross Franklin, Johnstown:
Senior RB/LB ran for 229 yards and three TDs on 29 carries in a 56-35 win over Loudonville. Franklin also returned a fumble 98 yards for a TD. 

D.J. Manning, St. Marys: Senior RB ran for 335 yards and four TDs on 36 carries as the Roughriders beat archrival Celina 32-20. It was St. Marys 12th win over Celina in the last 13 games.

Jon Rodriguez, Ottawa Hills: QB threw for 302 yards and four TDs in a 48-30 win over Hilltop.

Aaron Kemper, Winton Woods: Senior RB ran for 223 yards and three TDs on 25 carries in a 31-28 loss to Walnut Hills.

Ashton Jackson, Trotwood-Madison: Sophomore RB went for 242 yards and scored two TDs on 13 carries in a 37-13 win over Springfield.

Lucas Kennedy, Danbury:
QB completed 13-of-27 passes for 330 yards and three TDs and ran for 81 yards and another TD in a 64-34 loss to Edon.

Mark Konieczny, Oak Harbor: RB ran for 252 yards and a TD in a 28-7 win over Port Clinton. He also had a TD reception.

David Fraley, Granville: Senior QB completed 23-of-46 passes for 341 yards and four TDs in a 28-21 win over Licking Valley.

Chad Vannest, West Carrollton: Junior QB ran for 190 yards and three TDs and threw for 136 yards and another TD in a 30-19 win over Oxford Talawanda.

Terrell Byrd, Garfield Heights:
WR caught 10 passes for 229 yards and three TDs in a 35-34 loss to Brunswick.

Tajuan Green, Columbus Brookhaven:
QB ran for three TDs and threw for two more in a 35-14 win over Northland.

Danny LaRosa, Thompson Ledgemont: Senior RB scored four TDs and ran for 184 yards in a 49-12 win over Ashtabula Edgewood.

Anthony Vagnier, Logan Elm: QB accounted for five TDs (threw for three and ran for two) in a 35-14 win over Teays Valley.

Chet Saum, Amanda-Clearcreek: RB ran for 182 yards and two TDs on 24 carries in a 28-13 win over Canal Winchester.

Tyler Jones, Vandalia Butler: Senior RB surpassed 1,000 yards on the season with 137 and three TDs on 14 carries in a 34-7 win over Miamisburg. Jones has 1,104 yards through five games. 

Shannon Geren, Edon: RB ran for 209 yards and three TDs on 25 carries in a 64-34 win over Danbury.

Zach Tomi, New Albany: QB completed 10-of-11 passes for 148 yards and four TDs (all in the second quarter) in a 45-22 win over Watkins Memorial.

Kumar Collins, Reynoldsburg:
RB had 200 yards and scored two TDs in a 36-10 win over Newark.

Chajaz Davis, Columbus Linden McKinley: QB had a hand in all his teams points in a 28-20 win over Centennial. Davis ran for three TDs and two 2-point conversions and also threw for a TD.

Drew McArtor, Licking Valley: Junior RB ran for 221 yards and three TDs in a 28-21 loss to Granville.

Zach Thompson, Hamilton Township: QB tossed five TD passes in a 49-6 win over Circleville.

Aaron Long, Columbus Crusaders: QB completed 21-of-38 passes for 374 yards and four TDs in a 41-28 loss to St. Charles.

Austin Zachem and Darryl Richard, Kenston: Zachem threw for 341 yards and two scores and rushed for 69 yards and another TD and Richards caught six passes for 214 yards and two TDs in a 48-28 loss to Chagrin Falls.

C.J. Williams, Martins Ferry: RB scored four TDs and ran for 169 yards on 19 carries in a 49-14 win over Belmont Union Local.

Evan Wyse, Archbold:
QB completed 9-of-11 passes for 133 yards and four TDs and ran for another TD in a 51-0 win over Swanton.

Josh Sowder, North Union: Senior QB accounted for five TDs (threw for three and ran for two) in a 48-7 win over Mount Gilead.  

BIG NEWS

Rossford snaps 35-game losing streak: The Bulldogs rallied from a fourth quarter deficit to beat Woodmore 28-26 and snap a 35-game losing streak. Jonathan Stockhard led Rossford by running for three TDs. The Bulldogs last win was a 35-19 victory over Sylvania Northview in the 2007 regular season finale. The losing streak started the next week in the first round of the playoffs with a 35-2 loss to Big Walnut.

Best Start Since 1984: Findlay beat Toledo Central Catholic to improve to 5-0. It’s the Trojans best start since they opened the 1984 season 8-0. Findlay held TCC to six first downs and 152 yards (80 of which came on TCC’s lone TD).

1,000th Game: Galion played the program’s 1,000th game last Friday and beat rival Bucyrus 37-7 in the teams’ 111th meeting. Junior RB David Nay led the way by rushing for 233 yards and two TDs on 21 carries. He also caught three passes for 76 yards and a TD.

Sack Stats: Walnut Ridge freshman Anthony McKee registered 7.5 sacks in a 53-0 win over Columbus South. Not to be outdone, teammate Falim Womack had 5.5 sacks and returned a blocked punt 57 yards for a TD.

Unlikely Victory: In its game against Chillicothe Unioto, Williamsport Westfall took its opening possession and scored a TD in 90 seconds. The Mustangs next five first half possessions all ended in turnovers. Westfall trailed 7-6 at the break. All told, the Mustangs turned the ball over seven times but still managed to beat Unioto 26-14.

100th Win: Mayfield head coach Larry Pinto won his 100th career game as the Wildcats edged Stow 14-7. Mayfield forced five turnovers.

Offf-ense: For the second straight week, Clinton-Massie won 72-7. Last week the Falcons beat Hillsboro, this week it was Miami Trace…Dublin Coffman scored 42 points in the first quarter of its 76-0 win over Westland…Hilliard Davidson rushed for 484 yards in a 33-0 win over Thomas Worthington…Columbus Briggs scored 52 first half points in its 60-20 win over Africentric…Liberty Center outgained Wauseon 453-36 in total yards in a 34-0 win…Patrick Henry had 435 yards of offense in a 41-14 win over Evergreen.

Defff-ense: Bellbrook held host Franklin to 99 total yards and handed the Wildcats their first loss of the season 21-0. Franklin had no first downs and 21 yards in the second half…Cincinnati LaSalle held Columbus Watterson to 39 yards rushing in a 28-3 win…Mentor held Parma to 65 yards in a 49-0 win…Avon held Elyria Catholic to minus-2 yards rushing in a 27-16 win.
