JJHuddle Wrestling Power Polls: Week 4

A few changes, but not many. Moeller moves up to second in D-I after a dominating performance at the Glenn Sample Coaches Classic. Franklin moves into the Top 10 in Division II. With Christmas approaching, this was a light week, but holiday tournaments are on the horizon.

Here’s how the state rankings shake out heading into the final week of 2011.

1. Lakewood St. Edward – Eagles preparing to head to the Clash National Duals.
2. Moeller –
Crusaders follow Ironman up by cruising to Glenn Sample title.
3. Massillon Perry –
Perry still putting things together, still finished ninth at Ironman.
4. Solon –
Strong second behind ASVSM in Comet Classic to open the season.
5. Fairmont –
Firebirds record top five finish at Glenn Sample.
6. Brecksville-Broadview Heights –
With Assad brothers in tow, record 14th place finish at Ironman.
7. Wadsworth –
Bounce back from Ironman with second place finish at North Canton.
8. St. Ignatius–
Champ DiCamillo leads St. I to 25th place finish at Ironman.
9. Glen Este –
Looked strong in winning Harrison Duals.
10. Centerville –
Finished fourth at Olentangy to open season.

1. Graham – The Falcons gear up for Clash National Duals.
2. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy –
Strong 11th place finish at Ironman.
3. Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary –
ASVSM finished 45th at Ironman.
4. Lewis Center Olentangy –
Rolled to their own tourney.
5. Milan Edison –
Chargers turn in strong performance at North Canton.
6. Clyde –
Flyers were second to Edison at Charger Invite.
7. Parma Padua Franciscan –
Finished 38th at Ironman.
8. Urichsville Claymont –
Claymont returns three qualifiers, all three placed including runner-up Cody Burcher.
9. Lexington –
Finished 22nd at Ironman.
10. Franklin –
Wildcats second to hosts at Dublin Coffman duals.

1. Applecreek Waynedale – Cruised to Cougar Classic Duals title.
2. Mechanicsburg –
Finished fifth at Marysville Duals against all D-I teams… and Waynedale.
3. Bedford St. Peter Chanel –
Finshed 15th at Solon.
4. Dayton Christian –
Warriors building momentum in adjusting to tougher schedule.
5. Beachwood –
Third at own invitational.
6. Troy Christian –
Finished 35th at Ironman.
7. Bloomdale Elmwood –
Open with good test this week against Genoa and Liberty Center.
8. LaGrange Keystone – 
Returns two qualifiers, one of whom placed.
9. Galion Northmoor – 
Returns two qualifiers, one of whom placed.
10. Waynesville –
State runner-up Cody Steiner will get help from freshman phenom Alex Lawson.
