Orrville’s Monheim headed to MAC?

Orrville linebacker has talked with two Big Ten schools and would like
to play in that conference. However, he may end up accepting one of his
MAC offers.

State’s football camp in June and Luke Fickell and OSU assistant coach
Mike Vrabel have been in contact with Monheim during this football

However, Monheim has not heard from Ohio State in the past couple of
weeks.  But if that doesn’t change Monheim has other options.  He says
his list of scholarship offers includes Toledo, Ohio, Akron, Miami of
Ohio, Kent State, Bowling Green, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan and
Ball State.  Monheim is also talking to Illinois.

“I went to the Illinois-Ohio State game,” Monheim said.  “Illinois
needs some defensive backs, but they might take just one more

The 6-foot-1 and 215-pound Monheim, who has been a varsity starter
since his freshman year, had a huge junior season making 125 plus
tackles with two sacks and 28 tackles for loss.  Monheim also
intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown.

Monheim has led Orrville to a 6-3 record this season with 100 plus
tackles, a couple sacks and an interception he returned for a touchdown.

“I’ve been in contact with Illinois and Ohio State,” Monheim said. 
“I talk to the MAC schools a little, but I want to play in the Big Ten. 
If things don’t workout I’ll play in the MAC.”

Monheim mentioned two MAC schools in particular.
