With a Northern Buckeye Conference title and potential No. 1 seed in the D-IV Region 14 playoffs on the line,  Genoa (9-0) hosts Pemberville Eastwood (9-0) Friday.

Eastwood comes into the game averaging 56 points per game. Last week, led by brothers Zach and Isaiah Conkle who combined for 576 rushing yards and 10 TDs, Eastwood beat Woodmore 82-21. Zach Conkle, a senior, carried the ball 14 times for 322 yards (23 yards per carry) and five TDs (on runs of 80, 41, 48, 43 and 38 yards). Isaiah Conkle, a junior, carried the ball 10 times for 254 yards (25 yards per carry) and five TDs (on runs of 49, 35, 46, 35 and 88 yards).

Genoa, which averages 53 points per game, is coming off a 62-14 win over Rossford. In that game RB Kyle Nutter also scored five TDs and had 182 yards rushing on 24 carries. The Comets have won  48 straight regular season games.

Fred Lee, Columbus West and Donyelle Simpson, Heath:
Both RBs scored seven TDs in wins by their respective teams. Lee, a senior, scored seven TDs in a 62-12 win over Columbus Independence. He carried the ball 23 times for 173 yards and scored on runs of 6, 4, 37, 8, 7 and 3 yards. Lee also caught five passes for 74 yards and another TD (17 yards). Simpson scored seven TDs in a 56-0 win over Hebron Lakewood. Simpson carried the ball 19 times for 232 yards and scored on runs of 5, 3, 30, 6, 66 and 50. He also caught a 10-yard TD pass.

Eric Pringle, Mount Healthy:
Junior DB helped his team overcome a challenging night on offense with two interceptions, the second of which he returned 15 yards for a TD, in a 17-7 win over Hamilton Ross. MH managed just two first downs and 110 total yards against Ross, but won thanks in part to four TOs, including two additional INTS by Tyrell Hines.

Aaron Abbott, Lebanon:
Senior RB accounted for 315 all-purpose yards. Including a 97-yard kickoff return for a TD in a 41-28 win over Fairborn. Abbott also ran for 140 yards and two TDs on 22 carries and caught a 52-yard pass. Abbott has run for 1,410 yards and 20 TDs this season and has only fumbled once in 196 carries. He also has a TD catch and is averaging 33 yards per kickoff return.  

BIG PERFORMERS

Luke Creditt, Waynesville: Senior QB ran for 229 yards and three TDs and passed for 224 yards and three TDs in a 49-21 win over Milton-Union.

Josh Little, Springboro: Senior QB completed 14-of-18 passes for 315 yards and four TDs and ran for another TD in a 38-27 win over Xenia.

Evan Wyse, Archbold:
Sophomore QB ran for 247 yards and two TDs and threw for 239 yards and two TDs in a 41-18 win over Wauseon.

Tevin Brown, North College Hill:
Junior RB ran for 218 yards and five TDs on 14 carries in a 43-0 win over Cincinnati Christian. Brown had TD runs of 44, 38, 10, 25 and 47 yards.

Maty Mauk, Kenton:
Senior QB completed 26-of-38 passes for 386 yards and five TDs and added 98 yards and two more TDs on eight carries is a 54-15 win over Defiance.

Adam Bodrick, New Albany:
WR/DB displayed his versatility in a 45-17 win over Delaware Hayes. Bodrick caught a 66-yard TD pass, returned a kickoff 75 yards for a TD and had an interception on defense.

Cory Brandewie, Fort Loramie:
Senior RB ran for five TDs in a 65-6 win over Dayton Jefferson.

Donovan Wilson, Dublin Jerome:
Junior RB carried the ball 37 times for 266 yards and three TDs in a 24-12 win over rival Dublin Scioto.

Marquan Barnes, Columbus Northland:
RB ran for 256 yards and four TDs on 29 carries in a 35-0 win over Columbus Whetstone.

Ben Chaney, New Bremen:
Senior WR caught 10 passes for 237 yards and two TDs in a 30-21 loss to Coldwater.

Josh Makuch, Liberty Union:
Senior RB carried the ball 24 times for 242 yards and three TDs in a 40-9 win over West Jefferson.

Javon Harrison, Wayne:
Junior QB accounted for six TDs in a 51-30 win over Northmont. Harrison completed 17-of-33 passes for 270 yards and four TDs and ran 17 times for 78 yards and two more TDs. He’s accounted for 22 TDs the last five weeks.

Ross Franklin, Johnstown-Monroe:
Senior RB rushed for 208 yards and three TDs in a 62-20 win over East Knox.

D.J. Manning, St. Marys:
senior RB set the Roughriders single season rushing record by gaining 148 yards and three TDs on 29 carries in a 34-14 win over Van Wert. Manning now has 1,813 yards and 22 TDs this season.

Jacob Edmisten, Williamsburg:
Senior QB accounted for five TDs and 221 total yards in a 47-27 win over Landmark Christian. Edmisten ran for three TDs and threw for two.

Pierson Dunn, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy:
Senior DE had six TFL in a 45-7 win over New Miami.

Joe Bodnar, Maderia:
RB/LB scored three TDs three different ways – rushing, receiving and interception return – in a 42-39 win over North Bend Taylor.

LaKeith Wells, Cleveland Rhodes:
Senior RB/LB ran for 184 yards and three TDs and returned an interception for a TD in a 54-0 win over Collinwood.

Isiah Wilson, Brush:
QB completed 6-of-10 passes for 172 yards and three TDs and ran for 123 yards and two TDs in a 49-10 win over Parma.

Scott Eilerman, Kirtland:
QB passed for 212 yards and four TDs in a 54-6 win over Fairport-Harding.

Dan Graziano, Girard:
Senior QB completed 13-of-17 passes for 241 yards and three TDs and ran for 114 yards and two TDs in a 50-0 win over LaBrae.

Austin Schimmoeller, Bryan:
QB completed 15-of-20 passes for 243 yards and five TDs in a 43-0 win over Swanton.

Ben Swartz, Milbury Lake:
WR caught seven passes for 236 yards and three TDs in a 37-34 win over Otsego.

Austin Valdez, Sylvania Southview:
Junior QB completed 16-of-25 passes for 346 yards and 4 TDs and ran for 84 yards on nine carries in a 50-29 win over Holland Springfield.

Aaron Dulay, Whitehouse Anthony Wayne:
RB carried the ball 39 times for 315 yards and five TDs in a 49-43 win over Maumee.

Nick Merrick, Claymont:
Senior QB completed 16-of-21 passes for 260 yards and four TDs and ran for 52 yards and two TDs on seven carries in a 49-6 win over Meadowbrook.

Dalton Ishmael, North Baltimore:
Junior RB carried the ball 30 times for 246 yards and four TDs in a 30-29 win over Kansas Lakota.

Nathan Strock, Tri-Valley:
Junior QB completed 11-of-13 passes for 210 yards and two TDs and ran for 130 yards and two TDs in a 38-14 win over Thornville Sheridan.

Jesse Curry, Youngstown Ursuline:
Senior RB ran for 208 yards and four TDs on 26 carries in a 25-21 win over archrival Youngtown Mooney.

NEWS

Say What: Frankfort Adena scored with 37 seconds left to take a 25-21 lead in its game against Williamsport Westfall. Thanks however to an ejected kicker, a poor squib kick, an illegal participation penalty and a 40-yard pass play, Westfall found itself on Adena’s two-yardline with 10 seconds to play and the clock running. That’s when junior QB Trent Williamson hit John Thomas for a 2-yard TD pass and a 28-25 win that earned Westfall at least a share of the Scioto Valley Conference championship. For the game Williamson completed 16-of-28 passes for 222 yards and three TDs and ran for 119 yards and another TD on 19 carries.

Offf-ense:
Amanda-Clearcreek rushed for 418 yards (and had 508 yards total) in a 52-9 win over Bloom-Carroll…Dublin Coffman outgained Worthington Kilbourne 504-188 in total yards in a 34-7 win…Waynesville racked up 569 yards of offense in a 49-21 win over Milton-Union…Covington had three backs go over 100 yards (Trent Tobias, 109; Alex Baskerville, 105; and Isaiah Winston, 105) and rushed for 461 yards as a team in a 52-12 win over Ansonia…Senior RB D.J. Jones and QB Brandon Holt combined for 353 yards rushing and four TDs in a 56-14 win over Streetsboro. Holt also passed for 129 yards and two TDs… Tallmadge beat Copley 42-14 behind a balanced attack. Junior QB Anthony Gotto completed 18-of-25 passes for 300 yards and two TDs, both to Tucker Linder who caught six passes for 107 yards. Senior RB Tyrin Williams added 152 yards and four TDs on 27 carries.

Defff-ense: Logan Elm allowed 62 total yards in a 28-0 shutout win over Circleville…Amanda-Clearcreek allowed 98 total yards in a 52-9 win over Bloom-Carroll…Brookhaven forced seven turnovers in a 21-14 loss to Beechcroft…Pickerington Central scored more points (34) than yards it allowed (29) in the first half of a 34-0 win over Grove City…North College Hill held Cincinnati Christian to 22 total yards (including minus-one passing) in a 43-0 shutout win.
 
Noteworthy:
What you need to know about what happened statewide…

*Beavercreek secured its second winning season in 22 years with a 31-24 win over Kettering Fairmont. The Beavers (6-3) also secured their first winning season ever in Greater Western Ohio Conference divisional play with a 3-1 record in the Central with one game to play. Creek was 1-9 last season and had just one GWOC Central win in three years prior to this season.

* Canal Fulton Northwest coach Vic Whiting won his 200th career game with a 30-16 win over Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas. Whiting won two D-VI state titles at Delphos St. John’s.

*Fort Recovery shut out St. Henry 25-0 for its first victory ever against the Redskins in football.

*Columbus Marion-Franklin scored all its points in the second quarter and beat Columbus Eastmoor for the eighth straight time with a 30-20 win. The victory also secured the Red Devils eighth straight Columbus City League South Division title.

*Columbus St. Charles beat Columbus Watterson (23-13) for the first time since 2000. St. Charles held Watterson to one second-half first down.

*Dayton Thurgood Marshall moved a step closer to securing the program’s first playoff berth ever with a 21-14 win over Dayton Dunbar. Senior RB Tavonn Crisp scored TDs the first three times he touched the ball (75, 84 and 1-yard runs) and finished with 279 yards rushing. He ran for 160 yards in the first quarter alone.

*Firelands moved a step closer to its first playoff berth ever with a 55-26 win over Black River. The Falcons had over 600 yards of offense and were the definition of balanced. Senior RB Nick Deichler ran for 283 yards and three TDs and senior QB Kyle Smith threw for 320 yards and four TDs.

*Garfield Heights head coach Chuck Reisland won his 100th game at GH and 201st overall with a 28-26 win over Lakewood.

*Solon handed Brunswick its worst loss in 41 years with a 56-3 defeat. The Blue Devils last loss of a greater deficit was in 1970 (lost 57-0 to Wooster Triway).

*Bucyrus Wynford won its 57th straight regular season game, 53rd straight North central Conference game and seventh straight NCC title with a 22-20 win over Galion.

*Toledo Rogers won a share of its first Toledo City League championship since 2000 with a 20-16 win over Bowsher.

*Sylvania Southview won a piece of its fifth straight Northern Lakes League championship with a 50-29 win over Holland Springfield.

*Northwood won a share of its eighth Toledo Area Athletic Conference title in 10 years and improved to 57-4 since joining the league with a 49-9 win over Ottawa Hills.
