Whitmer’s Meyers has a MAC Favorite

Mark Meyers, who has a number of MAC scholarship offers, made a Big Ten
visit on Saturday. Who sits at the top of Meyers’ list and did he land a
Big Ten offer this weekend?


Toledo Whitmer senior Mark Meyers was in East Lansing on Saturday
for the Michigan State-Michigan game.

“It was a good game,” Meyers said.  “The atmosphere was great.  They
do a lot of big things there.”

Last week Meyers said he had scholarship offers from virtually every
school in the MAC and the Spartans had said they could be the next to
offer if he receives a qualifying score on the ACT which he will take on
Oct. 22.

In addition to the Spartans’ game on Saturday, Meyers attended a
couple Toledo games earlier this season.

“The biggest difference (between Toledo and Michigan State) is the
bigger crowd and atmosphere and all that at Michigan State,” Meyers
said.

The 6-foot-0 and 177-pound Meyers was a starter at cornerback his
sophomore season and free safety this season and last.  Meyers made 75
tackles and intercepted four passes two years ago.  Last season he made
126 tackles with five interceptions.

Whitmer is 8-0 this season and Meyers has approximately 60 tackles
with four interceptions.

Meyers is planning to wait things out and see what happens with…
