Boardman senior Dayne Hammond had a great visit to Ohio University over the weekend.
What is next for the talented wide receiver/safety?
Frank Solich and his Ohio University coaching staff welcomed in some
fine prospects for the Bobcats’ homecoming game against Ball State on
Saturday. One of those prospects in attendance on an unofficial visit
was wide receiver/safety Dayne Hammond (Youngstown, Ohio/Boardman).
The 6-foot-5 and 190-pound Hammond has been a starter at both wide
receiver and safety since his sophomore season.
“I’m getting recruited for both positions,” Hammond said. “Most of
the MAC schools say wide receiver. All of the Big Ten schools I’ve
talked to say safety except Wisconsin. They say wide receiver.”
Hammond’s older brother Chase is a redshirt freshman wide receiver at
Hammond is not certain exactly who he has scholarship offers from.
“Ball State and Toledo – I get mixed signals from them,” he said. “I
am not sure if they have offered. Ohio has offered and Youngstown
State has offered.”
Hammond liked what he saw in Athens over the weekend.
