Springboro junior offensive lineman Sean Welsh has landed a second MAC scholarship offer.
It probably won’t be his last. Welsh talks about his newest offer and
the schools he is visiting.
Springboro junior offensive lineman Sean Welsh is one of
the top junior guard prospects in Southwestern Ohio.
Welsh was a letter winner his freshman season. He is currently in
his second year as a starter at left-tackle and also plays some
nose-tackle. However, the 6-foot-3 and 275-pound Welsh is projected to
play guard or center in college.
Welsh has scholarship offers from Bowling Green and Ohio with the
offer from the Bobcats his most recent.
“Ohio offered last week,” Welsh said. “I think it was Wednesday or
Thursday. I sent my mid-season highlight tape to (Ohio assistant) coach
(Keven) Lightner. He shot me back an e-mail saying ‘you know you have
an offer right.’”
Welsh attended the Michigan State at Notre Dame and the Bowling Green
at Miami of Ohio games. He hopes to see games at Northwestern,
Michigan, Ohio State and Bowling Green before the end of the season.
“I plan to go to games at those schools,” Welsh said. “Things can
change – but I hope to get to games at all those schools.”
A visit to Ohio is also a possibility.
“I would love to make it to a game there,” Welsh said. “It just
depends on how things go.”
