& JJHuddle Division V Power Poll: Week 7
1. Coldwater (5-1, R20)
Junior QB Austin Bruns threw for 220 yards and three first half TDs as the Cavaliers built a 21-0 halftime lead en route to a 28-0 shutout at Parkway. This week Coldwater hosts MAC rival and D-VI No. 1 Delphos St. John’s (4-2) in the MVP HD Game of the Week (we’ll have video Monday).
2. Lima Central Catholic (6-0, R18)
The TBirds racked up 498 yards of offense in a 49-7 win over Spencerville. This week LCC heads to Central Ohio for a game at Columbus Ready (3-3).
3. Kirtland (6-0, R17)
Damon Washington ran for three TDs and Christian Hauber ran for 116 yards ( and a TD) in a 28-0 win over Burton Berkshire. This week Kirtland travels to Middlefield Cardinal (1-5).
4. Marion Pleasant (6-0, R20)
Led by RB Holden Rosebrough (202 yards and four TDs on 17 carries), the Spartans beat Mount Gilead 49-13. This week Pleasant is at Cardington-Lincoln (4-2).
5. Ursuline (1-5, R17)
The Irish’s brutal schedule is almost over and so too could be their season. After losing to defending D-I state champion and current No. 1 Lakewood St. Edward 20-7, Ursuline sits 16th in computer points in Region 17. It’s likely the Irish will have to beat either SVSM or Mooney or both to get in. we’ll know a lot more after this week’s game against St. Peter’s (NJ) Prep (2-2) – and next week’s game against Cleveland East Tech (1-5, but a D-I school).
6. Wynford (6-0, R19)
The Royals won their 54th straight regular season game and 50th straight North Central Conference win with a 33-7 win over previously unbeaten Ontario. This week Wynford is at Upper Sandusky (2-4).
7. Liberty Center (6-0, R18)
The Tigers recorded their third straight shutout and fourth this season with a 45-0 win over Swanton, which managed just 65 total yards. LC has allowed 12 points all year. This week the Tigers face their toughest test to date with a trip to No. 8 and undefeated Ridgewood (6-0). The game is Saturday.
8. Ridgewood (6-0, R19)
The Generals scored 21 first quarter points en route to a 34-7 win over Sandy Valley. Now things get ratcheted up tenfold with undefeated and No. 7 ranked Liberty Center (6-0) heading across state for a gigantic D-V match-up on Saturday.
9. Nelsonville-York (6-0, R19)
These Buckeyes had no problem scoring in a 48-0 win over Wellston. Through six weeks, Nelsonville has a 1,000-yard passer in Nathan Dean (67-of-95 for 1,066 yards and 12 TDs) and a 1,000-yard rusher in Dustin Young (1,016 yards and 16 TDs on 100 carries). This week the Buckeyes are at Meigs (4-2).
10. Columbiana (6-0, R17)
The Clippers beat East Palestine 48-14. Senior QB Austin Barbato ran for 136 yards and two TDs on 16 carries and threw for a TD, while Britton Steiginga added 65 yards and two TDs on six carries. This week Columbiana faces a big test when it hosts rival Columbiana Crestview (5-1).
