One of the top junior quarterbacks in the state of Ohio plans to attend the Nebraska at Wisconsin game on Saturday night.

Kettering Alter QB Malik Zaire was not even a
starter last year during his sophomore season, but he is certainly
making an impact this season.

The 6-foot-1 and 190-pound Zaire has led Alter to a 5-0 record.
Alter has a tremendous ground game which Zaire has been a big part of
with approximately 500 rushing yards.

But Zaire, a left-hander, also has a strong arm and can make just about any throw needed.

Zaire landed a scholarship offer even before he started a high school
game.  He worked out at Cincinnati’s football camp in June and the
Bearcats stepped up with an offer.

Among the many other schools showing interest are Ohio State, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Oregon, Alabama and Vanderbilt.

“I’ve been to the Ohio State-Toledo game,” Zaire said.  “I’ve been to
Notre Dame when they played Michigan State.  I’m going to Nebraska at
Wisconsin this week.  I’ll be back at Ohio State when they play
Wisconsin.”

Zaire wants to look at all his options, but says a couple schools stand out a little at this early point in his recruitment.

“Right now I’m keeping all my options pretty open,” Zaire said.  “But
Wisconsin and Ohio State are probably my front runners right now.”
