Glenville defensive lineman Willie Henry has over a half dozen scholarship offers
with more perhaps on the way. Today we have the latest from yet another
outstanding Tarblooder. Does he have a favorite?
Defensive lineman Willie Henry (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville) is
somewhat quietly building a very solid collection of scholarship offers.
“I have Syracuse, Pitt, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green,
Akron, Toledo and Ohio University,” Henry said. “Yeah, I’m looking at
all of them.”
The 6-foot-3 and 270-pound Henry played on the Glenville defensive
line the first part of his junior season. However, because of injuries
to some of his teammates, Henry moved to the offensive line.
Henry is back on the defensive line this season playing mostly tackle, but lining up at end in some situations.
“I can play anywhere on the defensive line,” Henry said.
Henry made a visit to Ohio University during the summer and has continued to say in contact with the Bobcats.
“I liked it there,” Henry said. “I talk to coach (Pete) Germano – he
calls once a week. We communicate a lot. We stay in good, close
Henry hasn’t been to either Bowling Green or Toledo so far.
“I haven’t been down to Bowling Green yet, but I plan to get there,” he said. “I’m trying to get to a game there.
“I was trying to go to the Boise State (at) Toledo game, but I had a game that night.”
When asked to name his leader, Henry said, “I don’t really have a favorite.”
Henry plans to take at least some of his official visits before
selecting a college, but has not begun to set any up. He said he is
open minded and doesn’t have any schools he will definitely schedule.
