So…did Ursuline’s second straight loss drop them out of the top spot in the Muscle Milk and JJHuddle Division V Power Poll? Ask yourself this: How many D-V schools in Ohio could beat Mentor? How many could score 27 on them?

2011 Muscle
& JJHuddle Division V Power Poll: Week 3

1. Ursuline (0-2)
The Irish are winless after two weeks. Their latest setback? A 38-27 loss to D-I No. 8 Mentor. Time to worry? Well, Ursuline does have to win games to get into the playoffs. The Irish’s next for contests are all doozies: @ Lake Catholic (2-0), @ Zanesville (2-0), vs Steubenville (2-0) and vs St. Edward (2-0). It doesn’t get any more brutal than that.

2. Coldwater (1-1)
The Cavaliers blasted host Hicksville 51-13. Junior QB Austin Bruns threw for three TDs and Coldwater returned two interceptions for TDs. This week MAC play begins with a visit from No. 4 Anna (2-0). Buckle up right off the bat.

3. Lima Central Catholic (2-0)
The Thunderbirds crushed host Convoy Crestview 58-7. Michigan State bound senior QB Tyler O’Connor threw for two TDs and ran for two more as LCC outgained the Knights 558-142 in total yardage and 24-5 in first downs.

4. Anna (2-0)
The Rockets survived host Sherwood Fairview 29-24. Down 18-7 at halftime, Anna rallied thanks to TD runs by Dustin Noffsinger and Cole Fergason and a blocked punt for a TD. This week a trip to No. 2 Coldwater (2-0) opens MAC play.

5. Kirtland (2-0)
The Hornets beat host Painesville Harvey 49-7 and earned national attention when a flag waved afterwards by some Kirtland fans read “You Mad, Bro?” The president of the Lake County chapter of the NAACP called the sign “racial intimidation.” No lie. On the field senior RB Christian Hauber scored three rushing TDs as the Hornets built a 42-0 halftime lead. This week Kirtland is at Orange (2-0).

6. Marion Pleasant (2-0)
The Spartans scored 45 first half points – including two TDs in the final 10 seconds of the second quarter – and spanked Buckeye Valley 59-13. This week a huge game at North Union (2-0) awaits.

7. Cuyahoga Heights (2-0)
The Redskins beat host Fairview 31-3. Senior RB  Troy Janashak ran for two TDs, kicked a FG and booted three PATs. Next up is a visit from Bedford Chanel (1-1).

8. Wynford (2-0)
The Royals ran the state’s top regular season winning streak to 50 games with a convincing 33-0 win over Mohawk. Wynford outgained the Warriors 428-88 in total yards. DE Jerad Butler had three first half sacks, while LB Garrett Shutler led Wynford with nine tackles. Riverdale (1-1) visits this week.

9. Columbiana (2-0)
Behind three rushing TDs from senior QB Austin Barbato, the Clippers beat rival Leetonia 35-14. This week Columbiana hosts Newton Falls (0-2).

10. Fredericktown (1-1)
The Freddies stubbed their toe against visiting Columbus Ready 17-14 and had their 23-game regular season win streak snapped. Fredericktown outgained the Silver Knights 263-223 in total yards. This week a trip to Ashland Crestview (2-0) awaits.
