Arguably the top rising junior offensive lineman at the Ohio State
Two Day Position Camp last week was Canton Glenoak’s Steve Mathie.

The
6-foot-5 and 270-pound Mathie showed good footwork and mobility. He
stood out during the 1-on-1 drills and afterwards said he was glad he
made it to the camp.

“I loved it,” Mathie said. “I really enjoyed it. I learned new
techniques of pass blocking. I definitely improved as a pass blocker.”

After the camp OSU offensive line coach Jim Bollman brought Mathie into his office.

“I talked to him a little bit,” Mathie said. “He said to keep up the good work. He told me to keep doing what I’m doing.”

After attending the Buckeyes’ camp Mathie headed for camp at Penn
State and finished up there this morning. He said Ohio State and Penn
State are the two schools showing the most interest.

Mathie is going into his second year as GlenOak’s starting right
tackle. He helped pave the way last season for Ohio State running back
commitment Brionte Dunn to rush for over 2,000 yards.

Bill Kurelic’s Comment: Mathie has a chance to be an Ohio State
offer prospect. He will need to continue to develop, but the potential
is there and the good news is Mathie is very interested in Ohio State.
