Jacob Matuska, a 6-foot-5 and 240-pound junior at Columbus Hartley, is a talented athlete in a big
body. His freshman year Matuska lettered on the Hartley varsity football team
and started on the varsity basketball team. Ohio State has noticed.
The Buckeyes signed two top tight end prospects last recruiting
season in Nick
Vannett (Westerville, Ohio/Central) and Jeff Heuerman
(Naples, Fla./Baron Collier). With the potential of those two, the OSU
staff will probably sign just one tight end (Blake Thomas) this year.
just one tight end likely in their 2012 class, look for the OSU staff
to take a look at signing another in their 2013 class, and one already
on the Buckeyes’ radar screen is Jacob Matuska

sophomore year. He caught 10 passes with two touchdowns.
Matuska has been to camps this summer at Cincinnati and Toledo,
and will workout at Notre Dame’s camp today.
“Toledo has offered me (a scholarship),” Matuska said.
“Cincinnati, UCLA and Wisconsin have contacted me. I’ve talked to a
couple coaches from Ohio State and Michigan State.”
Growing up in Columbus, Matuska has of course been to Ohio State.
When asked to name the schools he is interested in, Matuska said,
“Notre Dame is one. Ohio State and Cincinnati are two more.”
Kurelic’s Comment: Matuska is going to be a Big Ten type
prospect and has a chance to be an Ohio State offer guy.
