Canton McKinley DE Se’von Pittman, the No. 8
prospect in the state of Ohio and a top target of the Buckeyes, has
selected a college and the news is not good for Ohio State fans. “I
committed to Michigan State,” Pittman said. “I called coach (Mark)
Dantonio and just basically told him I’m committing. He told me I made
his Father’s Day and he’s looking forward to me getting there.”

Pittman said there were a number of factors that went into his
selection of the Spartans.

“I know they can really use a guy like me in the program,”
Pittman said. “When I was on my first visit there everything just felt
right. I plan to go there again soon.

“I sat down and talked things over with my parents and just felt
it was the right time to commit.”

Michigan State assistant Pat Narduzzi was a
big factor in Pittman’s decision.

“Coach Narduzzi is a well respected coach and can help me on and
off the field,” Pittman said.

The 6-foot-5 and 235-pound Pittman made 97 tackles including
seven sacks as the Bulldogs made the Division 1 playoffs and finished
with a 9-3 record last season.

Pittman estimates he had at least 20 scholarship offers including
Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida
and Nebraska before he selected the Spartans. Pittman said his final
five were Michigan State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State and Alabama.

Kurelic’s Comment: This is a definite loss for the
Buckeyes and a very big ‘get’ for the Spartans. Pittman definitely has
the potential to be a thorn in the Buckeyes’ side as he is an
outstanding talent.
