The weather was the big winner at Friday’s 66th annual Ohio
North-South Classic at Ohio Stadium.
The game was played
under a steady rain. But that didn’t stop the South team and its
ground-based offensive attack from taking a 25-7 win over the North. The
rainy conditions helped keep the
crowd total down to just a few
Quarterback/running back Tyler Williams (Cincinnati Colerain) was
the game MVP as he rushed nine times for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
Running back Jayshon Jackson (Westerville South) was the South offensive
MVP with 115 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. He also had a
Five future Buckeyes played in the game.
The South won the game for the second consecutive year. The North
still owns a 38-25-3 lead in the all-time series. The South now leads
the series 6-5 since it returned to Columbus in 2001.
The Ohio North-South Classic is the longest running high school
all-star game in the country.
