Defensive
end Se’von Pittman (Canton, Ohio/McKinley), one of the Top 10 prospects
in the state of Ohio, was in Columbus on Saturday for the Ohio State
spring game. He made the visit with teammate and Buckeye signee Steve Miller.

“It
was nice,” Pittman said. “I got to talk with the coaches a little.
Mostly they just wanted us to enjoy the game. They wanted us to watch
the positions we would be playing there.”

Jim Tressel, Jim Heacock and Greg Gillum were the three Ohio State coaches Pittman talked with on Saturday.

“Coach Tressel was surprised how big I’ve got,” Pittman said. “Coach Heacock said he wanted me to suit up right then and there.”

Pittman thinks the future looks bright for the Buckeyes to continue their outstanding play under Tressel.

“I like their young talent,” Pittman said. “It was good to see those guys out there. Braxton Miller impressed me some.”

Pittman has been to spring games at Ohio State and Notre Dame.

“I liked them both equally,” he said.

Pittman has scholarship offers from Ohio State, Notre Dame,
Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Nebraska and
Indiana. In addition to Ohio State and Notre Dame he has also visited
Michigan and Michigan State.

“Honestly, right now I don’t have a favorite,” Pittman said. “I don’t even have a top three.”

The 6-foot-5 and 235-pound Pittman has been a starter at
defensive end since the beginning of his sophomore season. Last season
he made 97 tackles including seven sacks as the Bulldogs made the
Division 1 playoffs and finished with a 9-3 record.

Bill Kurelic’s Comment: Pittman is a key Buckeye target. He is
one of the top talents in the Buckeye State and I look for him to be an
outstanding college football player.
