Lakewood St. Edward defensive lineman Greg Kuhar is closing in on a half
dozen scholarship
offers. Ohio State has not joined in yet, but they are interested and
Kuhar is talking about visiting Columbus.

The
6-foot-4 and 265-pound Kuhar played a big part in St. Edward’s winning
15 straight games last season culminating in a state championship.
Kuhar, who played defensive tackle, made 75-plus tackles including 10
sacks.

Kuhar received scholarship offers early from Michigan and Toledo.
In the past few weeks he has added three others.

“Now I have Syracuse, West Virginia, and I pulled in Iowa (on
Wednesday),” Kuhar said. “I’m visiting Northwestern this weekend. They
said they would probably offer when I visit.”

For Kuhar it is full speed ahead with his visits.

“I visited Syracuse last weekend,” he said. “I’m going to visit
West Virginia, and I’ll probably go out to Iowa and Boston College. I’m
talking to Ohio State every week. They want to get me down there for a
visit. I’ll probably get down there.”

The Buckeyes already have a commitment from one of Kuhar’s
teammates, offensive lineman Kyle Kalis, and
they are also interested in St. Edward offensive lineman Tyler Orlosky.

For the time being Kuhar’s main recruiting focus is on his
visits. He is in no hurry to select a college giving the Buckeyes time.

“I don’t have a favorite right now,” he said. “I’m not close to
picking a college. It’s going to be awhile.”

Kurelic’s Comment: Kuhar is a solid prospect, but the
Buckeyes signed five outstanding defensive linemen last recruiting
season and it is another great year for defensive line talent in the
state of Ohio this year. While Kuhar could get an OSU offer, I look for
the Ohio State staff to see what happens with some of the other in-state
defensive linemen they have offered before they would offer Kuhar.
