All-Ohio Nike Cup: All-Ohio Purple & All-Ohio Toledo take home titles

The All-Ohio Nike Cup came to close Sunday at Gahanna Lincoln High
School and for consecutive weekends All-Ohio Purple came to Central Ohio
and took gold back to Cincinnati.


GAHANNA – The All-Ohio Nike Cup came to close Sunday at Gahanna Lincoln High School and for consecutive weekends All-Ohio Purple came to Central Ohio and took gold back to Cincinnati.

The Nike Cup, which is an open tournment, had 24 teams participating over the course of two days. In an open tournament there are no age brackets meaning 14s, 15s, 16s, and 17s would all be in the same tournament. This obviously has its pros and cons, but for the most part it was a pretty good show.

The Playmakers (16U), All-Ohio Black (17U), All-Ohio Gold (17U), Cavs (17U), The West Virginia Wildcats (17U), The Ohio Hoopsters (17U), The Columbus Predators (17U), No Limit (17U), All-Ohio Purple (17U), The West Virginia Wildcats (16U), Hidden Gems (17U)- Walker, and West Virginia Xplosion (17U).

The Elite 8 teams included:
The WV Wildcats 17U over All-Ohio Black, Ohio Hoopsters over All-Ohio Gold, All-Ohio Purple over No Limit, and The WV Wildcats 16U over WV Xplosion.

The Final 4 teams included:
The WV Wildcats 17U over Ohio Hoopsters and All-Ohio Purple over The WV Wildcats 16U

*The 12 teams making the Silver Bracket were The Ohio Warriors (16U), All-Ohio Red (14U), Hidden Gems (17U)- Brown, No Limit (16U), Columbus Hawks (16U), All-Ohio Toledo (16U), Hidden Gems (16U), All-Ohio Connection (14U), All-Ohio White (14U), Nova Village (16U), Ohio Hoopsters (16U), and Ohio Varsity.

The Elite 8 teams included: All-Ohio Toledo over The Ohio Warriors, Hidden Gems 17U- Brown over Columbus Hawks, Hidden Gems 16U over Nova Village, and Ohio Varsity over Ohio Hoopsters 16U.

The Final 4 teams included: All-Ohio Toledo over The Hidden Gems 17U- Brown and Ohio Varsity over Hidden Gems 16U.

Championshp Game: All-Ohio Toledo over Ohio Varsity

Standout Performance- Dequon Miller (5’10/2011) of Capital, WV scored 37 points including eight treys in a loss to the WV Wildcats 16U sqaud. Miller also had 23 points in a terrific comeback win over All-Ohio Black on Saturday.
